Mojave towing

I have a mojave with tow set up.

Hi all, i am trailering a 1400 pound commercial mower.
I have noticed hopiness consistantly any any speeds after towing for a month. I brought it into jeep and the only thing that seemed to fix the shaky and hopiness is replacing the steering dampener (put in this week). It seemed to smooth it out quite a bit until I trailered my 1400 pound commercial mower yesterday. When I took off the trailer I noticed the hopiness return again. My trailor is probably 800 pounds (6x12 utility trailer light weight.

I have ordered a shocker air cushion hitch last night.

I am wondering why this hopiness has returned and what could possibly be a solution in the future after towing.

Air bags ... Mojave has soft rear suspension. Stiffen it up. You will be fine.

How do I stiffen the suspension

just the air ?

I went with a set of Max Tow rear springs and Icon 1 &3/8" aluminum spacer as the max tow springs are shorter then Mojave, rear is at same height, and Max Tow springs are compressed a bit by the RSI cap on bed, but ride has not suffered and rear is stiffer and tows better. I've had air lift air bags on my last three two Tahoe and Suburban, they work great, I'm just not sure how they would be offroad when you are articulating the suspension. Max Tow springs are sold here every so often and for short money. White Rabbit pointed me in this direction and he was spot on......Jack

Yep. Just air. And air down to 5psi when not using.

No problem off road. Can't even tell it's there.

Pump up to 25 or 30psi when using. Truck sits level and holds steady. Work well.

Would you expect the hopiness mentioned will go away return back to normal after the air suspension is installed?

I didn’t realize you are responding from also NH.

I ordered the air lift for rear as mentioned. I added an additional item called
“Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System”

which replaces the bounce stoppers.

I will let you know how either go.
