I taped a hole in the bed side rail with a 1/4-20 tap.( don't know what that hole is used for) I bought two 5 1/2 inch rope hooks and two 1/4-20 wing bolts form Home Depot. The hooks I bought had more of a V bend then a U bend I wanted so I did grind the inside of the hook to help fit the 1 inch wide bar on the Tonneau cover better. After placing the hook on the tonneau in the closed position the hole needs to marked and drilled in the hook in the exact location of the hole on the side rail, This may not be the easiest best way, but for the few times I may need to protect the contents in the bed it should work well for me

I like it... I went the route of the member with the bike straps. Your setup is more solid.
