I have done a search on the Forum and come up with many threads about the steering problems and the service bulletin that was issued. I guess my question is has this pronlem been eradicated on the 2021 gladiators? Any other issues that I should be concerned about? I'm looking at the sport s model with the maximum towing package.

Also I'm wondering why they maximum towing package can only be added to the sport and Sport s models. Is it because of a different suspension system?

Supposedly the aluminum steering box/gear whatever it is was deleted from new builds in August and they're all steel now.

Max Tow, because Jeep says so.

- Yes.
- None that we are aware of....yet.
- It's complicated but because the wide axles the Max Tow uses are stock on Rubicons/Mojaves (although they have thicker tubes and different lockers).

If you buy a Rubicon/Mojave, you can look up the springs for the Max Tow and order and install them. Then you would have everything Max Tow has and more.

This is incorrect. You will not have the same towing/payload numbers tow as max tow since you have all the added weight from the Rubicon parts. Also, the dinky tires that come with the max tow also give it the extra high tow numbers as it's less work for the vehicle to spin the smaller/lighter tires. The door placard on max tow will also state you can legally haul/tow more than a Rubicon one will if that is a concern.

Have any documentation saying the Mojave/Rubicon axles have thicker tube walls than the max tow? I've yet to see any hard proof for this, and would bet they're the same axles minus the lockers. There'd be no reason to manufacture a different axle just to reduce tube wall thickness. Fewer variations in parts are a win for inventory and manufacturing floors.

That's the word on the street. You are right though, doesn't make sense to have more variations
