So, on a 2023 Rubicon, what is this option?

Trailer–Tow Package
Class IV Receiver Hitch
Trailer–Hitch Zoom

That is the standard factory Tow Package. It includes the electrical and cooling upgrades.

I couldn't find any numbers other than the weight of truck on the door label. I'm still waiting to see what they actually did but my hopes are not high.

There should be a label for the tire size that also shows Payload capacity. It can be as low as 850 pounds, but is typically around 1100. For the Max Tow models, it is usually closer to 1500 pounds.

The Max Tow package also includes the wider axles, and 4:10 gears instead of the 3:73.

Then it says, do not exceed what's in the owners manual.

They can't install "max tow package". I don't care what they said - even some dealers "don't get it".
For security -there are a half dozen threads talking of stolen Jeeps and adding security.

i recommend a Tazer mini JL. u can program a pin into the thumb pad on your steering wheel. so it won't start unless the pin is entered

unless you go into other deeper options, all that's needed to bypass that is to remove the tazer - likely one of the first things a thief would do.
They have options for security that persists after removal of the tazer, but the basic pin is all but worthless.

However, it is a Sport with no bells and whistles - no auto door locks or alarm - everything manual. Because nothing locks with a click of a button, I will open it up with half doors in the spring. I had the dealer put on a leveler lift and max tow package so it's under warranty, but that's it for mods so far.

The base sport with no bells or whistles won't have the wider axles or gear ratio, etc. so it's not possible to do more than add the receiver, which doesn't change much.

I said it in another thread - you guys need a better sales person. My guy knew the differences and even knew that ONLY as equipped from the factory would have those tow ratings and nothing else.
Heck, he knew that back in November October 2019 when I ordered my first JT. He knew the tow ratings of each, and more.

If your "Due Bill" says, "Install Max Tow Package," it seems like you have a valid reason to return the vehicle for a refund if that task is not performed. It doesn't say, "Install Receiver." That's very specific.

THANK YOU!! Based on this it's 6,000 pounds. I should be able to make that work in an emergency. Trailer is 3800 - horse is 1100. I will of course test and tow the trailer by itself first.

I would get a Trunk Monkey for security. It can also be used to negotiate with the dealer. ?

Like others have said, the dealership cannot install a max tow package. If that was a big selling point, it is time to talk to the GM at the stealership about how they are going to make this right.

Yep, max tow means an upgraded fan, electrical for fan, alternator, wider axles and 4.10 gears. To make yours a "max tow" package would require both axles to be swapped. What are the odds the dealer did that? I would buy that they installed a Mopar class IV hitch. That is easy, and inexpensive to do.

They may be trying to advantage of you. Installing a lift kit on a Max Tow model eliminates the Max Tow capability, since it involves replacing the springs.

The Tow Rating for most models is around 6000 pounds, but only if it has an automatic transmission and a factory installed Tow Package. Otherwise, it is about 4500 pounds.

I agree that the only way to get Max Tow numbers is a factory Max Tow setup.

BUT.....

They need to itemize the parts for you. It might make more sense to all of us to see what things were installed. Hard to tell if they did a lot of work for you, or if they just bolted up a receiver and called it good. Big difference between the two.
