Yeah, I have my reasons for never using that company - there's a list. When I did a very deep dive, it's not hard to rip apart their claims. There isn’t a single system that will stop everyone. Everything can be reversed and removed. It’s how difficult you make it, and how often you park in areas with high theft. I’m happy to discuss my ideas, but not as much in a public thread.
I can do better with a fraction of the cost.
I won't get into a "Ravelco is GREAT, never been bypassed" vs. "yeah, they have" or other debates in public, it would be pretty lengthy seeing what I've seen with hours of research into them and believers will believe. their
I agree a big part of it is the installation methods - get some idiot at an audio or alarm store to install it and you can figure it WILL get bypassed, and paying their installers hundreds isn't on the table, either when you see "it took their installers 8 hours"- geesh, for that sort of money I could spend 2 days and do it myself to MY high level of expectations.
I won't deal with a liar and abusive old fart who cusses out people and hangs up on them (multiple reports)
Like you, there are reasons I won't take my thoughts into the public realm - obviously, if they knew my ideas, lurkers could eventually figure out even my methods (although it would take them a lot longer than an hour or two like some have said the Ravelco can be figured out in)
Ravelco "controls the narrative" - they go after anyone who claims it can be defeated or who says they have defeated it, calling the liars, demanding posts or articles be removed and so on. the number of domains they own and control, the number of FB pages tells you they are trying to keep tight control over things - anyone countering their claims of 5 million sold, never a single theft is smacked down. They have quite a few domains for a company like that.
So it's not just the technical side or the outrageous price behind my saying I will never buy one, but their tactics as well.
Sometime you have little choice but to deal with companies like that - but when there's a choice, I walk the other way.
Won't go further in public.
(and the messages out there where someone says they found snippings from wiring harnesses where their vehicle had been sitting - never a stolen vehicle out of 5 million? Liars)
