Or Ford or Chevy or any other corporationAnything to do with battery and electric motor will only produce more complicated engineering issues.
Jeep is supposed to be off road icon, with all these mumbo jumbo ev/ hybrid render its usefulness when issues rear it's heads.
As if normal jeep does not have enough issues to deal with already!
Simplicity is the key longevity!
5.7 hemi without etorque will probably outlast any force induction, ev/ hybrid in long run! But again jeep would not want u to have something that reliable which you will keep for a long time, jeep will go broke!
At some point recharge stations will be nearly everywhere. New Mexico is installing 500 more using the recent bill past. The state will be funding 300 more. Also to compete apt complexes are beginning to install them as well. It’s just a matter of time..
There comes a point the battery power cannot provide the requested power and the ICE runs,
So you run that batt down to (hidden 15% as you said) it needs the ICE to go, you set out on a long East Texas highway drive, you're getting 2.0 level MPG for the next 400 miles because it cannot regen enough....
Now we ask, what if the owner lives in an apt without the ability to plug in, without plugging in, no way you're going to get the advertised MPG....
I used to work for a tier 1 to the oems. There are not test mules unless the vehicle is going into production, or unless they’re testing a plug and play system like ford and the 7.3 Godzilla crate package in a mustang. I doubt they’d use a gladiator for that purpose, for the aftermarket stuff they take old worn out test mules that no longer have a use, it’s why ford used an s550 mustang a Year before the s650 is revealed. S550 no longer served a purpose. .There probably are MFR plated test mules, probably even hellcat stuff too
wouldnt consider those factory. Those are proto cars probably testing plug and play stuff. And most likely not built on the line. Interesting that they’d use a gladiator for that.Manufacturer plate yes. There were 4 of them at Kokomo plants when I was working the 2.0 engine retool. They are Corporate vehicles never designated for retail sales. Not the first company to do it, won't be the last. When they've lived their life, they will be crushed.
Still, those are just receptacles, do we really have the capability to supply power to them reliably and constantly AND in a say that doesn't negate what they are trying to negate? At some point recharge stations will be nearly everywhere. Sorry, but while you may have worked tier 1, MFRS do create test mules for proof of concept, design upgrade testing, and just basic WILL IT WORK vehicles.I used to work for a tier 1 to the oems. test mules are created after after a business case review is done on the program requiring it. If there is no business case for it, I.e. we won’t make money on it. They won’t do it.Sorry, but while you may have worked tier 1, MFRS do create test mules for proof of concept, design upgrade testing, and just basic WILL IT WORK vehicles.
Can't fathom jeep never had a V8 stuffed in a JT to see how it worked..
No telling what is in these....

The business case was made with the JL, the logistics of JT follow-on would dictate a mule for testingtest mules are created after after a business case review is done on the program requiring it. If there is no business case for it, I.e. we won’t make money on it. They won’t do it.
No one ever talks about that. At least the ev fan boys don’t. Wonder why…Still, those are just receptacles, do we really have the capability to supply power to them reliably and constantly AND in a say that doesn't negate what they are trying to negate?
Calif doesn't have the grid for the grand plan its forcing on the rest of the country.... and it isn't going to be powered by rainbows and unicorn farts
It’s just like Socialism, all about the idea of utopia but no concept of what it will cost to get there.Still, those are just receptacles, do we really have the capability to supply power to them reliably and constantly AND in a say that doesn't negate what they are trying to negate?

There were less than half the amount of gladiators sold in 2021 than wranglers. Hell, 2021 wrangler sales alone are more than the gladiator from 2019-2021. You can’t compare a wrangler and gladiator in terms of business cases. They’re targeted at completely different people. The desire for a V8 is filled by the diesel if more power is desired, hell or even a Ram. Jeep has literally said it themselves that there was no business case for a V8 gladiator. The wrangler has always been in a class of its own, throw a v8 in a gladiator, now you’re competing with yourself and ram.The business case was made with the JL, the logistics of JT follow-on would dictate a mule for testing
Diesel hybrid....Get off fossil fuels? Hardly. What do you think powers the electric generating stations across the country? What do they use to mine the lithium needed for the batteries. What makes the plastics and tires in every car made? We won't be off of fossil fuels and the ground contaminants from the batteries will be far worse than tailpipe emissions. No I'm not against progress...just waiting for a viable answer. Electric cars as of today are not the answer. Hybrid is the answer...for today.
