I've been on the fence with the refresh... What's your all's thoughts? I've got a 22 sport max tow that I've been super tempted to upgrade into a Rubicon or Mojave. .. got to say though the refresh is what's holding me back though. Seams like they only added even more complexity to an already complex vehicle. .. ... Any of you 24+ owners love the new features?
Had mine 3 days and it's not as intuitive as my simple High Tide was.

I've got a '24 Sport S.

I specifically was waiting for the '24s because I decided a while ago that I'll never own a vehicle without Automatic Emergency Braking or Adaptive Cruise Control again, which was a really hard thing to find in combination with a manual transmission and a truck bed.

Cars and trucks can now tell when there's a car in front of them. It's solid, proven tech. The thought of just pressing cruise control and cruise control will just crash right into a stopped car in front of you gives me the heebie-jeebies now.

I get the argument that we are the drivers and we are master of our domain and shouldn't need tech nannies to help us drive, but I would rather my vehicle know that there is another hunk of metal stopping in front of me.

Also, Wireless Android Auto is awesome and the widescreen lends itself perfectly to that format. If you're not using Android Auto or Apple Carplay then I could see why the widescreen would seem obnoxious.

Sooo...I consider the '24s to be an improvement.

Unless you work at a dealer, you're making an assumption
OP's original statement: "Seams like they only added even more complexity to an already complex vehicle."

From publicly available information, outside of the grill which allows for airflow improvements, they have the same 3.6L and same ZF 8-speed. What else could I be referring to?

Same battery Start/Stop system, same suspension system. I'd love to be enlightened on what mechanical complexities were introduced....

Mister Lamb. My 2020 didn't have comms back to the mother ship like my 2024 does. Tracking every drive. No OTA updates etc. My only gripe is big brother watching

I can't wait till some warranty repair is voided because I drove 4 mph over listed or some such BS.

Or more likely for those without select trac. Some repair not covered because 4hi was engaged on road (snow covered) so they claim mis-use.

We don't know what they are doing with the data.

When I bought my Tacoma I made sure to get adaptive cruise. After 6 months of using it I starting using the regular cruise again. It was far too reactive, slamming on the brakes for a car that crossed the road or slows for a turn lane 100+ yards in front of you, and each time it braked on it's own it wouldn't always activate the brake lights. A buddy that followed me on a few trips noted that he often times never saw brake lights even though I clearly slowed down fast. Shift schedules were also different when using active cruise, causing the already horrible gear hunting to be even worse.

Because of this, I opted for no ACC in the Jeep.

I'm referring to - side curtain airbags, adaptive cruise control , blind spot monitoring, antenna in the windshield....I don't consider these as crazy complex items just when your looking at a sport (manual windows and locks)like mine the features all start to add up.

I'm with ya, I had a 2019 Tacoma with the tss. I was pretty stoked to buy my barebones jt. If they made my sport with lockers I'd be satisfied.
