So last night I just installed some oracle flush tail lights and the oracle backup lights that replace the reflectors. Little did I know that you NEED to flash the computer using the tazer mini to program the tail lights.
Anyways last night after reading a couple threads I had no choice but to order a tazer mini if I wanted the tail lights to work properly.
My question is, if I flash the computer and set my tail lights to factory LED will this fix my issue of the Oracle tail lights acting weird AND actually turn on the backup lights when I put the truck in reverse?
Worth mentioning that as they are right now the backup lights won’t turn on (the ones that replace the reflectors) and of course the tail lights themselves do all sorts of funny things.
Will the tazer fix this issue?
BTW I did order the plug and play harness for the aux backup lights but still they won’t work with the oracle tail lights.

When did you buy the lights? Oracle should be offering adapters with resistors so you no longer require a change in the settings.

I also believe there are specific connectors for the back-up lights that you should use with their tail lights instead of the plug-and-play harness designed for fitting with the factory lights.

Did you contact Oracle support at all? Sounds like they'd be able to walk you through your questions and give you the support you need.

I did install the resistor and all the videos I’ve seen that use the their harness seem to be a direct plug and play. As of yet I haven’t contacted Oracle but on other threads Oracle themselves tell customers that they need the tazer if you’re upgrading from halogens.

You have questions. They have answers. Contact Oracle first. It's why they have a support line.

Problem with reading up on these is you're going to get a lot of information from the initial release which isn't necessarily accurate to new versions. They did make some changes to try and address the need for a Tazer. Your most accurate resource will be Oracle themselves.

If you don't get good luck with them, stop back with the information they provided and we'll get you pointed the right way.

I have a 2021 Sport S that had all halogens and I installed Oracle's flush mount taillights, bumper mount reverse lights, fog lights and Oracle's Oculus bi-led projector headlights and I didn't flash anything. Everything was plug and play. It's been well over a year and no problems.

That’s weird I don’t know why mine are acting up. For now I’ve put back the OEM halogens and the aux backup lights are working flawlessly. Luckily oracle has already contacted me and suggested I t-tap the wires. Not a huge fan of t taps and I told them I’d rather wait for my tazer to arrive and see how it goes from there.
That’s a sick jeep you got there btw.

Thanks for the compliment.
It's my first Jeep at age 66.
One thing I did change was the reverse lights.
I found I could use them more if they were tied into the lights in the bed.
They now come on as approach lights, utility lights or reverse lights and all controlled by the switch that's in the dash from the factory.
Easy to wire, you can use t-taps or splice. Remove each taillight and tie each light into each bed light.
One more thing they work great at, tailgaters. ?

oracle needs remove head from ass. they were on the forum a couple weeks ago spouting off about how all the issues with all their lights have been resolved. sorry to hear they're still full of shit.

Did you order the lights from a vendor other than Oracle? Maybe they had older version in inventory.

I have had oracle tails installed since last February that were purchased through northridge. Originally halogen lights and with j scan, have not had any issues so far. Also have aal turns, that had a hyper flash issue as well as intermittent not working and bulb out notifications. AAL resisters were installed but with them but still those problems continued. Jscan fixed the problems with them by setting to LED and restarting ecus. Hopefully tazer will help you, I feel like everyone has has been case by case with their vehicle accepting the change from halogen to led, it’s weird to me.

I've had Oracle flush mounts for about a year maybe longer as my memory is fading with age. I had halogen tail light and all I did was used the supplied resistors. No issues what so ever.
I also received a set of their reverse lights with a Rubicon bumper I purchased off of FB marketplace. I found that for me running both as reverse lights was to bright for me so I disconnected the bumper mounted lights.
