I have my issues with Horizon, too. They use a good lab, and I like their UPS pre-paid testing kits, but their online system is outdated and needs overhauled.

Here's how mine are filled out:

Component ID: 2015 ECODIESEL
Component Type: DIESEL ENGINE
Manufacturer: VM MOTORI
Model: 3.0 TURBO

Component ID: 2020 ECODIESEL
Component Type: DIESEL ENGINE
Manufacturer: VM MOTORI
Model: 3.0 TURBO
I think the problem with Horizon is that they maybe didn't know that Jeep JT/JL came with the Ecos and then were slow to update it (if they even have yet?)?

It's always important to refer to data based on miles. Here's an example:

screenshot_20230320-172034-png.png

sample 1: stock tune; 0.8% fuel dilution; 3.09 ppm Aluminum per 1k miles
sample 2: stock tune; 0.6% fuel dilution; 3.07 ppm Aluminum per 1k miles
sample 3: mostly stock tune, some GDE: 1.0% fuel dilution; 3.99 ppm Aluminum per 1k miles (viscosity down to 11.8; a 30 weight)
sample 4: GDE tune; 2.5% fuel dilution; 5.59 ppm Aluminum per 1k miles (viscosity down to 11.8)
sample 5: GDE tune; 3.2% fuel dilution; 9.45 ppm Aluminum per 1k miles (viscosity down to 11.3)
Is this why they have an updated tune ?

Yes. As you can see, just a little bit of fuel dilution causes the viscosity to thin and wear metals to increase.

Do you really think that caused the aluminum to go through the roof ? One could blame the crappy moly level or is that amsoil saving money ?

That's how we discovered the discrepancy. There are owners/operators working hard to collect data on these engines. It doesn't take long to see a pattern. As soon as the tune is installed, the viscosity thins, and the wear metals go up. That happened 100% of the time on the samples I saw.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the reason we submit oil samples is to establish norms for the engine. The more people who submit samples, the easier it is to establish norms and identify outlying factors.

Curious how many were tracked like this ? I've been creeping the 1500 forum to learn as well.

~7500 mi on oil, 15k mi on engine, using Penzoil Euro.

Planning to continue on 7500 intervals and on Penzoil Euro 5W-40. You oil experts can tell me what I'm looking for, but "seems fine" to my untrained eye. Thanks to @biodiesel for the encouragement to try it out.
Update time! 22,500 on engine, 7,500 on oil (ok for you detail guys, 22,465 and 7250 to be exact).

What oil did you run? I'm no expert but that looks decent. Aluminum went down.

@22EcoDs Penzoil Euro. For straight across comparison (we can compare similar mileages):

My last test

Basically my question I had earlier that was left unanswered. You’ve used EFM European car formula, and they flagged that it doesn’t match the lubricant data they see in the oil.
So I’ll ask again to confirm since I’m waiting since 15+ days to send my sample to avoid this precise issue: what’s the right product name to fill for the MS oil 5w-40 (AFLQT-EA)?
I’ve opened a ticket requesting the product to be added in the list in the app but no response..

I’m about to send my oil for analysis through Horizon oil analyzers (the one you get when you buy Amsoil analysis kit). I’m running the Amsoil MS but can’t find the oil in their database to register the sample. What do you guys use?

looks like they have FS but not MS in their database?

Right, my issue is that I can’t file this on the app they don’t have it:

Write AFL on the card when you send it in? Every time I have sent in my sample I have written Ecodiesel on the card, but they still ask for the model? I gave up

After the first oil report, you’re supposed to just be able to create a submission on the app and send your sample in with the qrcode so you don’t have paperwork to do. I like that but it turns out into a nightmare because it doesn’t work since they’re missing values. I’m talking with the rep today as I revived the tickets I have with them and they don’t even understand the problem I have they think I’d like to add a component (meaning car/truck in their jargon) to my account. ?

I’ll continue pushing on this till I get an answer anyway.

Ive just deducted something out of your message and the one of mine you’re directly answering to.

AFLQT-EU just means its the Quart (QT) version of the AFL oil family and I can find this on the app, it's just inconsistent with the “FS European Motor Oil” or whatever and I was expecting to find “MS European Motor Oil” but instead they have this bellow, does that sounds right? Should I use this?
