Door hinge correct? Why would that bolt have to be removed? Probably Lock-tite from factory? You can use a soldering iron tip to heat up the bolt if you need to loosen the lock-tite. Drill out bolt, insert tip of hot soldering iron, and use a EZ-out extractor. Whatever you do, DO NOT let anyone near it with a torch.

These bolts tend to be a pain because they are painted with the hinge. Usually will scribe around it with a knife first to help break the paint
To help get that out I suggest a hand impact. You hit the end with a hammer to force it in and turn, helps keep it from slipping out

Trying to install Smittybuilt Atlas steps.
Thought I could go myself but I canā€™t. Will pay someone to go it.
Is that bolt bad that I ruined it so it wonā€™t come out?

Uh yeah you stripped it. Only option now is to use an appropriately sized easy out. Using an easy out with a high degree of success requires a bit of practice. Since you are obviously not familiar/ experienced with using an easy out go get this done at a repair shop. Chance of this snowballing is high.

Most hardware stores have screw and bolt extractor kits. Machine shop supply houses will have better ones. Better kits have LEFT hand drill bits. It's probably a better idea for you to take it to a shop. Mechanics and machinist remove broken screws and bolts all the time. Let them do it for you.

It looks like any other attempts are gonna make that worse. But the bolt is shot anyways & gonna need replacing... maybe carefully try a larger flathead screwdriver, but It may not be worth the effort if you slip & damage the paint.

It can be removed by someone who has experience with extracting screws and bolts. See my above post. Good luck.

@LLRubylady

Was just last wee or so and there was another forum member that stripped the same bolt. In the posts he made then he described how he got it out finally, etc.. Perhaps you can find those posts or that guy will see you post and reply here.
Can i order a Mojito replacement bolt? Just in case I take off the Atlas steps if I want to sell years from now?

Not a bad idea to let the shoemakers make the shoes in some cases. Just know your limitations. We all have been bitten once or twice. It's not the end of he world. It will come out and your steps will be on before you know it.
