Took the gladiator on her first real off road trip. And my first off roading trip ever. Rubicon with 3.5” lift on 37s. Some tight squeezes but oh my is she off road capable despite my novice skills. So much fun and a Jeep badge earned!

Looks like a great trip! Awesome shots.

Hard to tell just from the pictures, but it looks like you didn't air down the tires? If not, any issues with traction?

So I probably SHOULD have. Had a compressor and everything. But I’m a novice and chickens out? Haha I just didn’t though. I was at 30 PSI all around. Other wranglers there were heavily aired down however.

I have never ran off road aired down so I don’t have a comparison but she handled so well once I got the hang of rolling in 4L in its gear. (I have a manual so a bit tricky for me). Great learning experience! Definitely need a spotter for this one. At least I did.

Nothing wrong with that! Personally, the only time I really consider airing down a necessity is on sand. These things are plenty capable regardless. Aired down to 15-20 psi or so though, you likely would have noticed better traction and impact absorption.

I have a manual as well, and haven't had an opportunity to do much slow crawling up and over terrain with it. I'm looking forward to getting it out on some actual trails soon.
