Sorry if this has been covered but a search revealed nothing. Noticed yesterday the floor mats on passenger side are soaking wet. Had a light rail the nite before. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance, DD

You probably have a leak in your door area

First Question: Have you taken your doors off and hung them on a wall.
When I did this and I wore an indentation into the weatherstripping causing the door not to seal and leak. I had to replace the weather stripping around the door to solve the issue.

Second Question: Did you perform the TSB that put a rain channel in to divert water from dripping on people. Rain would come off the freedom panels and drip right onto people. Jeep created a rubber channel that connected to the roll bar to divert the water. Unfortunately, that diversion, if installed incorrectly, will divert the water into a gap in the plastic trim of the window frame. Allowing water to drip down the inside of the window frame, past the glove box area, past the door electrical connection, and come out from underneath the plastic floor trim and seep into the carpet.

The other possibility, but probably not likely, is your drain plus in the floor have been removed and water can come up into the floor while driving in the rain.

Good luck finding the leak.

I had the same issue last year.

Turns out I needed to have the passenger door seal replaced. It weren't cheap either...like around $800 😲 😲 😲 Most of it labor.

I park mine with a nose down angle as my driveway is slanted down from the house to the road. Didn't try parking it nose up to see if that could be a temporary fix but, anyways...

What happened was that rain would drip down the door jamb and bypass the seal, run under that plastic threshold, and collect in the passenger floor pan. I'm guessing (now that I think about it) that if I parked with the nose up, it'd probably have collected in the rear floor pan 🤔🤔🤔

Yeah, it's the door seal and you'll need it replaced to correct that issue.

This happened to me.

TLDR: my windshield bolts weren't tightened from when I dropped it for cleaning and it leaked at the door seal in the top corner.

I ripped out the front carpet both sides to dry out and pulled plugs. I noticed that during one of the hurricanes we had I sat in the passenger side at night with a flashlight. I saw a steady stream coming in from the window frame to door area in the corner where it pees on you if you open the door except my door was closed.

I thought I needed to replace the door seal as I temporarily fixed it by heating and bending a solid plastic tumbler straw and wedged it into the door jam area in the door seal at that curve and it fixed most of the leak.

Come to find out I drop my windshield to clean the inside regularly and I failed to torque the bolts down and the two on the passenger side were finger loose. Torqued them up and removed my straw fix and everything is sealed up again.

Still haven't put the carpet back in.

Glad your fix was fairly simple. In my case, I have NEVER lowered my windshield so, it definitely wasn't that.

But, it's good advice to anyone who does lower their windshield to double check the torque on the bolts that hold it up to make sure any leakage doesn't occur.

$800 seems very expensive. I replaced my passenger door seal myself. The part is around $100 and takes maybe 10 minutes to install.

… Your salesman didn’t disclose that Jeep’s LEAK ! 😬
Yeah, when I found my first puddle, I was just outside the warranty. When I read the “fine print” on the extended warranty, found that leaks are NOT covered! I did what any cheap prick would do… I took the drain plug out. Problem solved ! 😉

Thanks everyone for your comments. Yep, passenger door seal but my own darn fault! I mounted a 52" light above the windshield and ran the cord, which is quite big I might add, between the A pillar and front of the door. Took it thru the car wash today and looked like Niagra Falls. I now know the problem but have to figure out a solution to get the wiring inside via another route. Anyway, thanks again!!
