SO I periodically have this issue that my drivers door handle button, does not work to lock the door. It works some times, other times it doesn't, seems like no ryme or reason why, different locations. FOB works all the time, when I grab the door handle it automatically unlocks, so not sure what the issue is.

Anyone else ever have this issue.....will add that I have contacted the dealer to get it looked at while it's under warranty, just waiting for the shop appointment to be set

Proximity lock or the regular power lock?

I noticed that if I hop out and try to lock it with the button on the door too quickly it won’t work. It needs a second to catch up and then if I hit the button it locks every time

My prox lock seems to be very sensitive about where I am. Have you noticed any rhyme or reason about your body position relative to the handle when it's not working?

I've noticed that if I try to hit the lock button on the handle with the fob in the same hand, sometimes it won't lock. I guess it think that the fob is still inside the Jeep.

so I'm usually standing facing the door head on most of the time when I lock, fob is usually in my pocket of my jacket, never in my hand, no real reason why it does it some times and others nothing, hopefully the techs at the shop can figure it out

I also have a 2020 and noticed it takes more work than the prox lock button on my 2014 Charger did.

Same here, it's very slow and varies from being responsive to pushing it a half dozen times or more, and like mentioned, has to catch up. My truck came with a Clifford remote start from the PO and I thought it was something with that, but nice to hear it's not just me lol (I think). It's very unrefined though.

If I exit my jeep and press the lock button too quickly, it will not respond.

Were the techs able to figure out anything?

I've noticed on all the vehicles I've owned that have had proximity locks, if the key is in the same pocket as your phone, or too close to your phone, it won't work. I think it's the NFC chips interfering with one another.
I've noticed this on Subaru, VW, jeep, ford, everything I've had.

i was having the same issue and then i noticed my other finger placement. i was half grabbing the handle and pressing the small lock button. with the half grab i am assuming the prox thought i was opening at the same time? but now that i am conscious of my other fingers and just use my pointer to press the button, it works every time.

Mine did this two days ago when I got to work. I grabbed my backpack out of the back, shut both driver side doors and pushed the lock button on the handle and it wouldn’t do anything. My theory is maybe it thought the fob was still inside the vehicle when it was in my pocket almost touching the door? I’ve only had this issue once, other than that I love the touch handle to unlock button, I use it every day.
