Thats some major overhang off the back! Looks silly to me. Kinda like a car with a huge ass spoiler.
I put the overhang of my RTT over the cab and I think it looks much cleaner.

It's set up that way to have the new style of sagging in rear...
That reminds me of how stupid it is seeing the younger generation with their pants hanging halfway off their ass or lower. I don't think they know that means where it started.

He said if he moved it over the cab then he couldn’t open the soft top. Probably needs a taller rack.

It also does not seem safe to have that much of the RTT base unsupported. I cant imagine the manufacturer would sign off on that.

My wife and I have the same bed rack, or I assume we do as that looks like the JCR.
I raised it about 2.5-3.0 inches @ the top and that allowed me to put the tent over the cab by about 4-5-6 inches, this resulted in near zero overhang, maybe an inch at most when the tailgate is up.
I would recommend A) Raising the existing tent higher so you can go over the cab or B) Finding a new rack that is taller.
