Can someone explain how something like the original photo happens? One wheel stuck while cranking steering opposite direction? Doesn't really look like this road would cause that.

The ford looks like it had a tie rod fail. That can happen on a JL... but I'd assume it's a lot easier fix on a JL.

The Red jeep looks like probably a ball joint or knuckle/shaft failure. These can happen on the IFS as well.

That CV boot doesn't look happy. I think that joint might be busted as well.
I was thinking the same, but I didnt know the full rotational capacity of that joint. The tires don't look turned any further than full lock. But, would certainly be an area of concern.
