Find that I've been hauling more than I originally thought I'd be doing, and I've been using the D rings and ratchet straps, myself.

(Got a used Trail Rail system on order, however) :)

One thing I WOULD ask, is if the cord around the edge is actual cord/rope/paracord.. or is it bungie cord?

if it's bungie, I'd recommend replacing it with something a bit more rigid, to help avoid extra shifting, if you plan on hauling anything larger than you currently are :) (rope/paracord/etc)

It's climbing rope. Rigid as hell.

Hey do what works. I had to remove some rope from the Jeep yesterday to make room.... I had too many bundles of cord/rope stockpiled, in addition to the bag of ratchet straps.

Too many people would not bother to tie any of that down. Unlikely to fall out but your responsibility if it does.

Looks like everything will stay with you for the trip. I did the unistrut for my tie down system. So far it has worked well. What brand/model cooler are you using?
