I traded my 2012 RAM BigHorn in April of 2017 on a left over 2016 Challenger R/T Plus. They gave me $12,000 for the RAM. It had 120,000 miles on it. It was paid off. They turned around and sold it the next week for $19,500 to a Well Digger/Pipeline Welder. I felt I got a fair trade. I would have liked to have $15,000 but they also knocked $5,000 off the Challenger.
A 2012 JK in 2017 would have been selling for mid-high 20s - way better resale value there...

What's the engine in picture front? Looks like a straight six? Great garage. You paint the truck? Where's the kangaroo or dingo or whatever wild creatures you've got down under?

I probably won't get but $1,500 if I'm lucky when I trade my 06 300C in on my next vehicle.

What do you think I’ll get for a 96 XJ with a leaky I6 4.0L and 205k miles? I wish I had the space to keep her, she’s not pretty but I am willing to bang all kinds of rocks with it.

Probably $100. I had a 2003 Dodge Caravan with 240,000 miles on it. The engine ran great and started every time. Yeah, I had to replace some things like a timing chain and water pump, but I took care of it and it ran great. The dang body rusted out on it or otherwise I would still be driving it. It only had the 4 cylinder in it but got 28 miles to the gallon and just ran. I could always count on it. I ended up selling it to a scrap yard for $100 as the body was falling apart. Keep your 96 as long as you can. :)

I've always wanted a beater Jeep. Something you like better the more you make it look mean.

No joke, my friend's grandpa bought a new F150 about 20 years ago. Drove it home, went into the garage, got a hammer. Came out to the truck and whacked it behind the driverside rear fender and said, "There, now its done, can treat it like a truck now."

I just noticed something on the Jeep website. Looks like they use a plywood background for the ground that these vehicles ride on. They must have been monitoring this forum for plywood ideas!!!
that does resemble MDF quite a bit.

Honestly, my 2003 Caravan was my wife's from her previous marriage. I bought her a 2010 RAM Big Horn because the van was getting old. The dealership was only going to give us $500 for a trade in and said if I didn't trade it in and kept it he'd take $500 of the price of the RAM. I kept it and fixed what was wrong mechanically with it, patched all the rust with putty and painted it with spray cans so it would pass inspection. At the time it had 120,000 miles on it. I used it for work and put another 270,000 miles on it. The best part, was we never paid a dime for the vehicle. Her ex-husband had to pay it off in the divorce. :) I think we got our money's worth. Best vehicle I ever owned. No power options to go bad except a/c & rear defrost which always worked and the rear wiper motor which I replaced.
