Hey folks,

Last weekend I fully disassembled all of the doors and installed soundskins sound dampening. Prior to this I installed a full sound system, so I’ve done some electrical work and a lot of disassembly.

after getting everything buttoned up today I noticed that the power mirrors are not working. The locks work, windows are fine, just the mirrrors. The fuse is fine, cabling should not have gotten damaged, connector to the jeep and door seems fine. I took the door apart again and all of that seems fine too. Not sure how to diagnose further. Any tips?

thanks!

Maybe try disconnecting the batteries for 30 mins and that might reset things. Rather odd issue if everything is connected correctly

check the pins in the door harness. I have heard those can get bent. Seen that happen when people remove the doors. It just get plugged back in wonkey or a pin gets squished.

That i do not know. Could it be the connecter at the mirror control? Verify those colors and the match them on the door harness.

The power mirror fuse is the 10a at the top left of your pic there. That’s fine, was alluding to the pin on the hardness. I found a wiring diagram, I’m perusing to see if I can figure it out.

I bet you all my debts 😂 that one of the front connectors has a least one or more bend pin, it happened to me way back when first took the doors off. Those pins are made of butter, take a good look they don’t have to be all the way bend, they could be just misaligned.

This ended up being a bent pin, but it was the harness that connects the mirror controller to the main door harness. The green and purple cable specifically. Problem now fixed!

i found it while taking a multimeter to find the electrical issue. First thing i found. Basic troubleshooting wins again.
