pre-runner lighting

what is the purpose of pre-runner lighting? in some instances i think it looks cool, just not sure what real world purpose it serves.

I think for most applications thats all there is to it, looks good. I am going to add them to my Gladiator for that reason alone, if I don't like it once they are on I will remove them. It is a cheap customization comparatively speaking.

Correct, NHTSA states that vehicles over 79" wide need to have clearance lights. The Gladiator is 74" stock so if you are running 10" wide wheels with aggressive offsets you may actually need to add clearance lights.

Plus they look cool
