One big repair cost that will be ongoing with the eco diesel is the intake replacement every 100K or so.( P200A/B codes)I'm going to post an entire teardown and replacement thread when I do mine next weekend. parts are 600-1000$ by themselves and if ya pay for the work it will be at 1000$ minimum labor to get it replaced because the intake ports should be blasted as part of the repair as well as checking the EGR cooler since it will likely be near plugged at that time too. You can thank the EPA and Jeep for willingly producing something that now has an intake as a consumable item that WILL require replacement. Oh and it will likely happen right after the powertrain warranty expires like mine did and Jeep will tell ya to F' off on assisting in the cost of repair as has been my experience so far on all of the issues I have tried to get addressed. Most people that have experience with diesel know that they inherently cost more to maintain, but forewarning, the emissions systems required by tier 4 are destroying them prematurely, and the hidden/undisclosed ownership costs that I am starting to see are significant enough that I would hesitate to buy one again. It's not like the eco is a true tow capable workhorse like the one ton motors( which also share the same fate from EGR). I love my truck and plan to keep it and work these maintenance practices into it because I still can't get anything close to what I have from any other automaker, but it will be the last NEW jeep I ever buy. Jeep has become number one in my book thanks to Stellantis and the cheap out practices that make jeep truly junk from a longevity point of view..

Does deleting it help reduce all of this build up or are we still screwed too? That's all from the egr system correct?
This is the ticket. Yes the diesels come with their own set of issues, yes maintenance costs are a little higher, but after now owning two "small" diesels (2016 BMW X5 and now the Gladi) I don't think I'll ever go back to a gasser, at least not an naturally aspirated gasser. I tried a gasser Tacoma after my X5 and made it 10 months before trading it in. I missed the diesel power and economy.Sorry OP for all the negative S**t I have to say.. despite my whining, I love my truck and wouldn't own something else because comparable doesn't exist.
Haven't purchased yet. JKUR went on another pretty big adventure through central Utah this weekend, and once again brought me home. 3.6l has its downsides but man I feel like it always gets you home. Still just looking around, I want the diesel but think I'm leaning towards the 3.6 just cause of the familiarity to me. The diesel honestly scares me, don't know much about em, never owned a diesel vehicle. I also will be purchasing used not new, i'd rather be out of warranty with a 3.6l pent then a 3.0 eco. Still deciding honestly.
Thanks for the tag. Here's the link: (30) 50,000 - 500,000 Mile Club (EcoDiesel only) | Jeep Gladiator (JT) News, Forum, Community - JeepGladiatorForum.comLook at the thread from I think @biodiesel about miles on diesels. Plenty of happy owners.

Thank you!I just posted in your tracking thread.
Camped at Yuba state park on the beach, from there went Fayette to Manti trail, Chicken Creek trail, marble hill, to log canyon, camped around left fork log hollow, and exited near Fountain Green. Was as awesome run linking all of those together. Central Utah is highly under looked, nowhere near as busy as the more northern parts of the Uintah's (specifically mirror lake highway has turned into an absolute shit show).![]()
Ha! We were out and about last weekend in our diesel Gladiator in Central Utah. Ran Skyline Drive from Hwy 6 to Salina. Everyone was geeking on my fuel mileage over 120+ miles of dirt roads. GREAT weekend to be out and enjoy the area. Excellent temperatures at 9500-10,500'. I think that's Spring City, UT you can see in the Manti valley. It's around 5000' elevation.
Where did you go?
I've been kicking around the idea of grabbing a 392 since I bought the Gladiator diesel. They aren't without their issues. If you're interested, hit me up about my diesel JT.
Better pic of the JT from Hells Revenge a few weeks ago.![]()

I am interested in your gladi. How many miles are on it? What price are you looking for? Where are you located in Utah? It's the color combination I want as well, white with black fenders/roof. Feel free to DM with some info on the gladiator.
I almost purchased a white on black Gladiator w/ 3.6l yesterday, but someone showed up 40 minutes before my scheduled appt and wrote a check and drove off in it.
