I am affected. I removed my winch for time being and preparing to ship it when they are open to receive.

Only funny thing I noticed was that the LED lights would come on at random. To turn off I had to insert remote cable and they would go out.

Weird...I sent them an email about 15 minutes ago asking them WTF and how many more months am I supposed to keep this $600+ boat anchor in the garage.

I hope they do too but even if they say it's fixed I'll never trust it. Since they announced the recall it's been radio silence from them. They said unhook it till we contact you to send it in, that was months ago.

It’s been 2 months for me. No word ... nothing.

I went out and took it off the Jeep and .... crickets

like I told them today in my email... can’t use it, can’t sell it... just an expensive boat anchor

it gets fixed I’ll sell it cheap

Install one of the solenoid kits that controls power to the winch. That should allow you to continue to use it, as needed, until it gets repaired. I have one of the Warn kits so I don't have to worry about shorting and a fire in case of an accident.

Finally received some word from them;


Hey there,
We're currently testing the new CPU's to ensure they fully resolve the defect.
Once satisfied, we will be sending out the return prompts.
The ETA is about 2 weeks!

Got my email today. Hopefully the forum posts got them to provide updates. I don't care if it takes 6 months to get fixed, just keep me in the loop.

Still nothing.. I sent email and got the 1-2 weeks testing spiel. That was on 2/5. Looks like they have been saying that for a few weeks. And as of today... still no update the the recall site

Good to hear. Thanks for posting. Im going to have a brand new winch for sell as soon as this thing gets "repaired". CHEAP! I bought it, put it on my jeep and "BAM!"...letter comes in the mail saying "do not" use. So I took it off....never once turned it on....BFN "rolling eyes".
