I have been building out my Mojave with basically gear I can reuse on my next gladiator (Billie bars, tonneau cover, tires etc) I have been holding back on really investing in this truck because I am waiting on the 4XE or the hurricane. Should I just build this out how I want it now and keep it for a few years or is it worth waiting for the engine refresh?

Well, your opinion on what to do is way more important than mine when it comes to your Mojave, but I’m happy to include my thoughts here for you to consider. I intentionally bought a High Altitude because I wanted all the interior bells and whistles and I knew I was going to remove everything underneath and immediately go with a Clayton Overland plus full suspension and replace all of the steering gear, etc., and it seemed like a dumb idea to invest in something like a Rubicon and just remove all of the underside. The HA came with the wide axles too which was all I thought I wanted to keep underneath.
Now, four years later, I often consider trading for the Rubi because of lockers, 4.10 gears, crawling ratio, etc., but don’t because it would be too expensive to redo the full lift, suspension, Armorlite and I can’t justify the changes. All I really have left is a few thousand bucks for gears but for some reason I can’t quite pull the trigger on that part. Oh yeah, and the color. I love the black when it’s clean but hate it pretty much all the rest of the time, like especially right now with the friggin road salt. šŸ˜‚
Most of the things I have added are easily transferable to another JT, but those big ticket items hold me back every time.
That is a lot of words to get to this point, but my advice is if what you really want exists, go for it now before you invest in something you can’t easily undo, then complete the rest of your build and enjoy it. The 4xe (might happen) or Hurricane (probably not soon if ever) are a tough call to wait for.

Definitely just have fun with your Mojave build and don't look back. The hurricane isn't happening and I wouldn't take any chances on the headaches of any early 4xe model

Thanks everyone. I have been hesitating adding heated seats, sprayed in bedliner, LED headlights and the AEV lift. I do love this truck. It does everything I need it too. Part of my problem is always looking for the next best thing haha.

Why deny yourself the enjoyment you deserve waiting on something that could be a long wait or maybe never? And who knows? Once you're done building the beast, the 4XE might not even be enough to lure you away from it.

pretty sure the gladiator isn't gonna get a powertrain refresh till after 2028. Unless the new CEO does something. If more power is all your after just put aside 600 bucks a month in apple, amazon, etc stocks and in a couple years you'll have enough to pay cash or close enough on a hemi swap or cummins swap. I'm committed to just sticking with this one cus its not worth dealing with even more electronics on future models and they'll never offer a 2 door which is what want more than a new motor. To me it makes sense to build the MY i prefer and pay 40k to make it perfect rather than rollover 30k plus every 3 years and hoping they actually make a gladiator you want. look at the 392 wrangler and the wagoneer. both have the motors we want but its like 90k min for one. still 75k for a deisel back when they made it. Its just ridiculous. cus it will still need thousands in mods after that to be what you want. I'd rather pay 50k for my truck, slap on 3500 bucks in mods (thats all i need) and then fork over for a hemi later. all in all, I'll have spent 95isk grand and be better of than a stock 392 that realistically you can't get for less than 115k and still has no bed.
