Good afternoon everyone, I bought an overland and am looking to get a baseline on it before I start modifying it. AOAA and Rausch Creek are close to me and I wanted to head out there one weekend. I've been out there before but with my colorado and I was looking to meet up with some jeep people. Are there any groups that go out there on a regular basis? I'd rather have a group that I plan on meeting rather than just showing up and trying to find a group in the parking lot. Thanks!

I'll go with you for sure. I'm flexible on dates, as long as it's not last minute. My wife has a jeep too. Hers hasn't left pavement yet, but i think she wants it to.

Great, I will let you know, it will probably be early March. I have a stock overland right now so I won't be getting crazy with it.

I have a mostly stock Rubicon (just 35" tires) and my wife has a stock Wrangler 75th Anniversary. All of our rigs are way more capable than I'm willing to test haha. You'll be fine.

Awesome, my truck will be getting 35s and some other mods this summer but I feel like I need a baseline so that I'm not wasting money in the wrong areas.

I've been to both a handful of times, I prefer AOAA for the amenities and the rockyness of the trails. Raush is more muddy woodland than AOAA and costs a bit more because they require a season pass.

You do have the option to join a monthly guided green ride at Rausch that is worth the money. Probably 10 rigs, most are newbies and you get an actual employee to lead you around. Ive done it once and dont regret it at all

That's a good idea. I prefer AOAA over Rausch too but I didn't do the guided tour. Maybe I'll try that out too. Thanks.

I like them both. I like AOAA because it's impossible to get lost. Pink and black gets you back haha. It's great to be somewhat close to both places.

I've been to Rausch Creek 11 straight years for the Power Wagon meet in June. I prefer Rausch over AOAA. With AOAA, you're sharing the trails with quads and bikes. One the bottom of one side of Rausch. There is a rock garden that will break you if you're not careful.

I like them both but for different reasons.
I am more familiar with RC and I used to compete in Class II of the RC Rocs Competitions with my first TJ.

The camping at AOAA is pretty awesome, but has a small charge. Camping at RC is free but no water or electric. Both have PortaPotties

For me, I can have a fun day doing anything from Greens to Blacks at both locations.

I highly recommend you download Maprika on your smart phone if you go to either.
It was originally designed for Skiers but it works very well for off roading. It is free and both AOAA and RC have extremely accurate maps for their parks.

It looks like this in the App store

RC just updated theirs and the maps are called
2022 RC Main
2022 RC NE

AOAA's maps are
Official AOAA East 2021C
Official AOAA West 2021C

I’ve been to both several times. Ultimately, what type of terrain do you believe you’ll eventually hot more often. Rausch is more “natural” terrain within PA where AOAA is still ‘man-made” - reclaimed open mining. Either way, you will enjoy both for sure!

Add me in to this group too! Bone stock Rubicon, haven't had it out yet because I've only had it 3 months and also had some house reno going on. Been about 20 years since I sold my built TJ and haven't really gone since (never have kids). Itching to get out again.

What about 3/26? But it's your date, so I think we could make 3/12 work. But I think on 3/26, I'll be childless.
