Hit the lock button on the Door itself then shut the door.
I don't know how they did it. The working fob was the one locked in. When I do that the truck goes nuts and won't lock.... they said initially to me if you do it enough it will lock. I haven't ever tried. But I was surprised as hell they got it to do it.

Heard from Carl @ DI Labs today ...... Sounds like the online store for the DI Labs, fobs will be open/selling fobs in about 10 days..
This is awesome! Literally the only thing I find mildly annoying about my Gladiator is the huge key fob.

Kudos to @crdouglass3 for all the work he's put into these.

I think you'll find them a lot more pleasant to use than the MonsterFob!

I can't speak for DI Labs but having looked at some photos, coming out of DI Labs... that aren't public lets say.... I can tell you they have an orange that sure looks like the Mojave Orange, color..

I saw a pic of a real slick DSI Labs fob with orange lock and unlock, remote X2 and Panic buttons labels in orange.. and the main color of the fob itself is a light color camouflage... Really really slick..... Also there is solid orange... friggin so many colors.... different textures also..

I'm not sure what all colors will be offered when the DI Labs fob store is first opened.. at the get go of their opening ,lets say..

Suggest you go to this link https://mythreedom.com/ and poke around... You will see the side of an orange DSI Fob in the opening pic there... on the very right side of that same pic you will see the light camo color, I mentioned..
I had asked for red, that is my fob! He stated the red looked like pink when he made it. So the color choice in the pics definately resembles the Mojave orange. I am curious to see the shade when it gets here.

The part that attaches to the key ring looks a little weak. Hope it holds up

I've got a Lego dude attached to my beta since I've gotten it. Not much weight there but it hasn't caused any failure to that one so I have high hopes. :)

@Spur

While testing the DI Labs, beta Fob, on day one, I tried very hard to snap that little king ring affair on the mini fob.. I gave it hell lets say and could not break it.

I also stepped on the fob multiple times, threw in hard against a hardwood floor multiple times and tried to flex it manually with my hands.. I was intentionally very very rough on it..

As a tester I wanted to lets say, do the right thing and find any shortcomings..

Well, I did find issues lets say... the key ring was not one of them. The key ring is very stout...

What I did find, was that when I threw the beta fob against the hardwood floor, I could jar the battery loose and the fob would no longer work...

I also found that I could, if I tried real hard, that I could flex the case and make the cover come loose/pop loose..

I immediately contacted DI Labs (Carl) and within minutes he had duplicated what I had told him with his fob and had contacted his team and had them do a a slight design change(s).. With that change(s) the fob no longer exhibits the problems I reported to him... I should mention his other tester's may have reported the issues also...

Anyway, you would have to really really raise hell with the fob to damage the key ring....or to damage the fob in general. Sure, it can be damaged if you have a mind to damage it...
You definately went all out!! I used mine as "normal" use, and only also managed to loosen the battery in the original battery design. Otherwise it has been flawless and 1000% better to carry around hands down.

Like many of us, I am not a fan of the Gladiator keyfob. On top of it's size and the overactive switchblade key, my jeep logo is already coming loose, after a few months of use.

I have investigated the AJT fob and I am not a fan of that either. I made the decision to design a new fob.

I am designing the fob so the key is integral and slides out if needed. This is similar to many of the current fobs on the market.

I am posting this here because I am contemplating producing the fob once the design is complete. I have access to some of the most advanced additive manufacturing equipment available and can produce full-color, textured, customized fob housings. I figure if I am going to the trouble to make my own, I'd see if there are certain features or design considerations other people would like to see.

I will have alpha prototypes this week for fitment/function testing and then we'll dive deeper into the ergonomics, shape, and key action. At this point, I am planning to reuse the factory button cover.

If this interests you, please let me know what you'd like to see with a redesigned fob.

Cheers,

Carl

Sounds like a Plan! If ya can't maybe Fiat would lease their spokeswoman to help an Old Jeep Owner lug this Fob around!
