Hello all I am due for differential service. I want to perform the fluid change myself on my 2020 Gladiator Sport. I am aware of the proper viscosity 75W 85 Full synthetic. Would anyone have a brand of choice. I looked into the one from Mopar that is linked to my Vin but it is like $ 60 - $ 75 per quart. Any advice would be helpful Thanks.

I use Mobile 1. You can reuse the OEM gaskets. No need to get new ones.

Gaskets huh ? 75w85 huh ?

That w85 is just some BS to try to force you to buy their overpriced stuff.

Get any 75w90 oil that meets the spec. Something like mobil 1 or Valvoline or amsoil if your fancy.

Open drain, drain, close drain, open fill port, fill till it spills out a little, close fill port. Done.

It ain't rocket science.

It's generally a good idea to open the fill port first on a diff/transmission/flux capacitor so you don't get in a situation where you've drained it and can't get the fill port open to refill it with oil.

Sure. Unlikely on a brand new or almost new jeep. But I amend my original complex task list to include opening the fill port first.

And before someone says it, get some proper permatex or other thread sealer for good measure when putting the plugs back in.

With a 20 model you have drain plugs. makes changing lube a simple job. no need to pull the cover unless you want to.

Look for a 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil. That will open up a lot more options.

Your first gear oil change might surprise you on how little is in there. At least it did me to find how low mine was from factory. Quite possibly what lead to so many leaking axles. Back on subject... don't over think it, pick up 3 or so qt / LT quality gear lube in the spec of manual or your flavor and friction modifier (Trac-Loc) if needed. I typically use synthetic. Open fill plug before drain plug "can't be overstated" stuff happens it sucks having to pull just sealed up cover to fix that. Drain out drain plug or pull cover if you want but if have a tube of silicone or gasket (in case) ect ect. Pulling cover isn't a bad idea as to inspect inside axle. Some have had bearing failures, it might be found before catastrophic failure(???)

I used the Valvoline Synthetic 75/140 for my rubicon. You can get it in the squeeze bags (which is the best idea for a differential oil container in 100 years). It’s easier to do than changing the engine oil..

GL5 is the part I would be most interested in.
Redline makes a 75w85 and GL5.

https://www.redlineoil.com/75w85-gl-5-gear-oil

Have used redline diff fluid for a long time. Good stuff. Most of their products are right up there with amsoil.
