REAR ENDED - THIS IS A TANK

I got rear ended yesterday and this Jeep is a tank
Body shop looked it over and no frame or structural damage
Hitch checked out but may have their insurance replace that
Some chips on the steel bumper
Mark on Tailgate rubbed out

She hit me at 30 mph with no braking or skid markers

Not saying it's not impressive, and I do think the JT is very well built, but it looks like the low Honda bumper and hood saved you. I'd definitely try to get the new hitch if you can- I was rear ended with my F150 last year while towing my boat- hitch looked fine until they unbolted it to fix the bumper, ended up being replaced along with some frame work.

Glad you came out as well as you did. That damage can be fixed easily. Be sure to also ask for diminished value compensation too. Your Jeep is worth less now just because it has a crash on its record.

Doesn’t look like it. It’s pretty difficult to see though. I’ve noticed most airbags don’t deploy unless they’re going pretty fast. Guessing above 35 or so. I’ve seen hundreds of acda accidents where they didn’t deploy.

Distracted driving. Botton line.
The diminished value is real. I had the same think happen to me with a Frontier. No real damage but new bumper. Tried to trade it and the dealer knocked $2k off because of the accident on Carfax.
Maybe if you dont have a body shop or insurance involved you may be ok.
