okay, i'm getting my JT and a puppy within 1 week of each other, :involve:

what are some of the rear seat dog beds that people are using? I've seen some where they make kind of a "hammock" between the headrests of the front and rear seats. Any links?

Thanks!

Just make sure the pup is secure. Safety first and comfort second.

I use the following harness:

https://ruffwear.com/collections/dog-harnesses/products/web-master-harness

I also use something like this (I can't find the exact model at the moment) in combination with the harness:

https://pawsafe.co/products/dog-seatbelt?variant=15912902393930&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&campaign=2063036350&content=363920819698&adgroupid=74932546703&keyword=&device=c&network=u&placement=&gclid=CjwKCAjw-ITqBRB7EiwAZ1c5U_EJc3x0aLESRdzNOd2JOokqtmfixkVSY8GYWk2ip3om_pytNe7_exoCaCkQAvD_BwE

I also use quickdraws with the harness depending on what I am using to protect the vehicle seats. I just secure them around a seat belt to the harness:

Please don't be that guy with a pup in the bed of the truck while driving or the dog with his head out of window without doggles on:

There are a lot of vets within my extended circle of family and close friends. I can't even begin to tell you all the things that can go wrong within a vehicle with pets. Way worse than those ASPCA commercials!

I use to have a pair of padded sunglasses kinda like those doggles. Need a new pair.

I'll stop posting on the puppy thread because it could get out of control! We have two pups and two kids but we always tell people we have 4 kids because they are members of the family! We have this:

https://www.orvis.com/p/grip-tight-...EjrF9xgmV8KjuPI4XORekHelajFKunUhoC2f4QAvD_BwE

It is on the higher end, at least, price wise but having gone through about 50 (no joke) different styles, materials, etc. it also has a pass through for the seat belts, which many do not.

I will say, our pups just prefer some blankets and being strapped in so their view is unobstructed.

If you're going to be outside a lot with the pup, I would suggest anything RuffWear offers. We have it all and I could probably help with pros and cons, if any, of most of their products. No, I am not a paid endorser of their company....:)

I’d like a hammock that only takes up half or 2/3rds of the rear seat. My son sits back there too and he’d probably love it if we brought his dog along.

I have owned a couple different hammocks types for my dogs and the fault is always the bottom plastic part that makes them water proof ends up cracking and peeling over time and ends up all over the seats. Another thing to think about is the inside of the doors, my dogs like to put their paws on the door handles while having their heads out the window so my door handles get pretty nasty. I have since just started keeping them in the back trunk area, currently have a forester and just put a blanket down. My hope is for the Gladiator to get a bed cover design that looks like a Wranger cap so it looks like a stretched Wrangler and get a bed mat and keep the dogs back there.

Guys, can’t say enough good things about this one...did a quick write-up on it on a previous post. And yes @Joe333x they even make rear door protectors too (not to be used with tinted windows though) - Copied it below:

Wanted to get a back seat protector for my dog...this one from 4knines fits perfect and I tested with the top and doors off and it stays in-place great! No need to cinch it down, just tuck the side flaps under the seat. Easy to access seat belts, center arm rest, and does 60/40 split with zippers on either side of armrest. You can also get the version with the hammock but I didn’t. Size = Large. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UXWJPIS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Just to clarify the size you bought, you said LARGE. I only see extra large and regular listed. Please confirm the size you bought. Thanks.

Hey, that'll also protect the seat from my kids spilling stuff.
