Hey I’ve got a 6speed Sport s on 35 nitro ridge grapplers and my 6th gear is pretty mud useless. I want to upgrade my gears from 3.73 to either 4.56 or 4.88. I don’t plan on ever going over. 37 I’m tire. Curious what gearing you think is best and what the pricing for installation should be. Thanks y’all!

4:56 for fuel mileage, 4:88 for more low end and pulling power.

FYI Yukon gears is like 12-14 weeks out on gear supplies.

Gears sets (ring pinion per axle) are 350ish per axle plus another 250-300 per axle in labor to install. Is a rough cost. Figure 800 bucks per axle installed.

The guy that did some work on my Jeep quoted around $2000 for everything. I’m sure it’s quality gear sets because he doesn’t work with shit products. That was a year ago though. Prices may have gone up.

Not really understanding regearing... If I change from 33's on my MT Rubicon to 35's (with 4.10s) to 4:56 gears... Will that increase my MPG? If I go with 4:88s will that increase my MPG and Power full towing?

Is there some type of calculator to help determine what is best?

Sorry about the NewB question.

I'd chime in and say now is the time to add the rear locker of your dreams. If you can swing it. Re gear and do the locker at the same time.

Google search axle ring and pinion chart.
It will enlighten you.

Local Dealership quoted me $3,240 total (Parts & Labor) for front and rear 4.88 re-gear using Mopar parts. I have an Rubi 8 Speed Auto. Anybody else getting quotes in this range?

Did this include master kits or did they use your old bearings? Axle bearings/seals?

Paid about $1510 all on taxes, gears, labor, fluids for Yukon 5.13 Gears. I also put on Dana aftermarket diff covers for another $300 or so. Got gears myself and then had installed since everything is so messed up right now. Got quotes up around $2600 from dealer and other shops.
Love it - best mods ever
