I have a Mojave and am planning to go to 35 or 37s soon. I am heavy as I have an AluCab canopy camper, steel bumpers, winch, bike rack, etc. Around 1200 lbs total payload, right at the limit. We take the rack off when we are offroad, unless just gravel. I have a 3” JKS lift.

In the next two or three weeks I am planning on installing Fuel Beast wheels with either KO2, KM3, or Yokohama Geolander XATs. Still trying to decide on size and which tire model will be best for my needs. I put 33“ Geos on my wife’s JLR a few months ago and like them, but not what is right for the JT since we Offroad it but also on road a traveling to destinations to hike and bike.

I am going to drive it for a few weeks after upsizing tires to see how it does, but am sure I will be regearing withinin a month or two. I am not as concerned about gas mileage as I am sluggishness and highway performance. This is no longer my daily driver but I will still put 15-20k miles a year on it traveling so want it to perform well, but do not expect stock performance.

I have read a number of the regearing threads but this is a bit different due to my weight and because it is not a DD. What do you guys recommend for gearing for each tire size: 4:88, 5:13, something else?

Mine has 5.13s and 37s without a load and am very happy I went with them.

My shop (offroad elements) will 100% tell you 5.13. There are also a few reputable YouTube channels which say the same.

I went 5.13s with 37s and occasionally towing a 3,500lbs camper. If you run at the top of your speed limits, it gets revvy and fuel economy drops fast.

With the consistent weight in the back, my personal vote for you is 5.13s.

Unless you drive a ton of Hwy, go 5.13's. It's always best to error on the high side given those gears have to push a lot more weight too.

So sounds like 5.13s are the way to go. Thanks.

@Panthers65 Interesting that you say unless I drive a lot of highway to go with 5.13s. I figured highways is where I would want the 5.13 the most.
