Don’t need sides steps but would like to cover up those holes. Best and cheapest options?rock rails or something similar to the plastics in between fender and rear bumper?

It's all personal preference. I'd go rock rails (have them on my JT Rubi and JKU Rubi) but if getting in/out is difficult maybe a slider/step combo does the trick for you. Good luck with the rig.

Check the member market place for someone taking off the rubicon rock rails, probably cheapest option.

Probably the Jeep Rock Rails if you don't need a step, they cover the crimp points etc. My JTR came with them but I will eventually be replacing mine with Rock Slide Engineering Power Steps and guards since I have added a lift and I'm adding side cladding body armor as well.

Bought all my stuff rock rails and bed sliders off forum members. That a Sport S? If so there is a little cutting of plastic on stock bumper involved in the bed sliders. Front Rubi rails bolt right on. I mad a template out of cardboard that worked pretty well

N-Fab makes a set of rock rails with removable side steps for when you go off-road. I had them on my previous truck and loved them. Ordered some for my Rubi and they should be here Monday - the day after my birthday. 😁

I have these from N-Fab. They’re fine for a step, nothing special, and cover the pinch weld, but definitely not a slider. Also offers some chip protection on the hinges since they stick out a bit. They ran around $300.

If I wasn’t on gravel so often I’d have gone with the OEM sliders. There’s also a set from Barricade called “Enhanced Rock Rails” I believe that I’d have preferred. Those look like the OEM slider but with a step built on that doesn’t drop down like these N-Fabs do. Still wouldn’t expect those to work as a proper slider, but have an OEM look, a step, and protection from tire-slung rocks

This is what I’m talking about. They bolt on to the body, not just the pinch welds. And the steps are removable.
