Question:

How much do the Rubicon fenders (body colored) cost? And when you purchase them, do they come body-colored or do you have to get them professionally painted?

You can't get them from the factory on Sport, so I'd have to order through parts. So it looks like this is a 4-figure mod after I get them painted. Scratch that idea. :)

A good idea. But if I were you I would never buy a painted set that were painted a different color than your truck. Or to buy a black set and then get a paint ship to try to spray paint them the color of your truck. Simple reason is that it may be next to impossible to get the paint colors to match.

Also get the overland bumper. Yeah, if this had been an option from the start, I might have went with a Sport.

I'm going to have to breakdown and order the High Clearance (Rubicon) fenders from Mopar.
It's about $540 for all 4 flares.
I'll buy the flares and paint them myself. I have all the spray equipment and it shouldn't take much to shoot all 4 flares...
I'm in Colorado so painting will have to wait until we get some better weather.
*I don't have a proper paint booth to achieve the proper temp and humidity.

Once all said and done I'll be about $600 into the swap and it will be as good as factory...

It would be cheaper to just change to aftermarket flares, but I'm a fan of staying as close to factory on most parts.

The rear bumper will be aftermarket once they are readily available with a good selections.

I already have the Mopar Steel front bumper and I picked up a JLR Hood awhile back that was the right color for a great price!
That was like finding a needle in the haystack... The Hood makes a pretty big difference on the truck...

I've kept everything i have changed on the JT to put back on if I sell or trade it in sometime way down the road..

Somebody should do a write-up or video on replacing the fenders.

I'll be doing a step by step including the painting....

I'll probably also do the thin line LEDs at the same time...
I'll retain the inner flare liners and kept it pretty close to a factory look...
I'm not a big fan of the chopped up flares to add the LEDs...
It's pretty easy to maintain the inner liners..

I'm not seeing this online in the build configurator.
At this time, it looks like the Dealer has to add the option...
There are several now on the lots that are dealer stock...

I'm still pissed off this wasn't available 5 months ago when I bought my JT! LOL LOL…

And I should clarify, these are not the painted Rubicon Flares, these are like the Overland... They are not the additional clearance versions...

I'm confused. So can you order different fenders on the Sport than what it normally comes with? And are they Rubicon fenders or not? If they aren't the high clearance Rubicon fenders, then it's a moot point.
