I will wrestle a bear, fight a wolf, and swing a rattle snack like a bullwhip........but spiders?.......I gotta have my 4 yo daughter take care of those. I have major willies just looking at this.

Neat! I used to find bugs and toss them into the web of garden spiders to watch then do their thing.

Nice Orb Weaver, Ogre. Fascinating to watch the male weavers bounce their web to attract the mate. We have a habitat type back yard and yesterday the wife was alerted by the birds. "Snake!" they sang. Found a 6+ feet Eastern Rat Snake lounging in the wisteria shrub feature by the pool. I was able get it to come onto the pool pole and come towards me. Very docile and inquisitive. After a bit, it reversed course and went down to it's den below the pine tree stump. A keeper for sure.

Spineybacked and the Western Spotted Orb Weaver Spiders are found in most of the southern States are toxic but not poisonous. If bitten, they leave a localized swelling and redness. I hate spiders and have both black and brown widows which are venomous. I pay a pest control company $$$$ to keep them away.

I have yet to get bitten and have had FAR too many of them end up on my head and neck when mountain biking and riding motorcycles.

I am tall and they tend to make their webs at a height where the average riders dont hit them.
I catch the bottom of their webs with the top of my helmet and then it wraps over my head, many times the spider lands right on the back of my neck.

I have bailed off screaming and swatting more times than I care to remember.

I don't mind the tarantulas. Black widows and brown recluse are a different story.

Remember at 12 yo, driving across Oklahoma to Amarillo in my dad's new Chevy step-van, crushing hundreds of tarantula's beneath the dually rear tires as they tried to cross the road. Oh, the simple joys of childhood being a guy.

Florida I can deal with, but "eff" Australia.
Every living animal, fish, and insect is the worst kind.
They happen to have the most dangerous sharks, some of the most poisonous snakes and spiders and meanest everything else.
Just think of their rodents, their called Kangaroos and they will box you.

From what I have heard, those Aussies are a tough bunch. Don't mess with them or the wildlife from there.
