Security Alarm and Doors OFF

Does anyone know if the security alarm will activate with the doors off? Thinking that once you disconnect doors there won't be a switch. Which makes me ask this question too. Is the alarm only tripped when the door is tampered with, tried to be open? Or will it trip if the vehicle is bumped, like someone hits your truck with fist and alarm comes on?
