Being in law enforcement security Is always on my mind especially when cruising around with my roof/doors off. Back in the day it was only the rich that had cameras and now they seem to be a everyday thing. I had a dash cam because I have seen the usefulness especiallly in crashes and civil liability.
i was searching stinger off-road and came across the echomaster DVR That has 2 cameras with built in SD card. One camera on the mirror faces forward. We already have a backup camera so was thinking about putting the 2nd camera facing into the cab in the event someone ever tries to mess with it.
Once installed this thing is awesome. Reviews weren’t the best but I haven’t experienced any issues after having it for a couple months. Super clean install with the kit and if someone ever broke in I doubt stealing the mirror would be on their mind helping preserve the recorded video. It kicks on like old school alarms with the shock sensors and hard wired into the head unit. Both cameras record at the same time
super clear video and easy play back right on the mirror.
Kit seems like a reasonably affordable security solution!
The only down side is that it is wider then OEM so at certain angles the sun visors can catch the edge when I put them down.
