Hello,
I've got a '21 that was working fine until the battery ate itself yesterday. I replaced the battery with a 94r, pulled the Fuse #42, and disconnected the Aux battery ground like suggested. The truck starts fine now but the service Auto Start/Stop indicator light won't go away. To be clear, it's been on since the first time I jump started the truck but didn't think anything of it since clearly the battery(ies) were no good.
Suggestions I found, tried, and which didn't help: disconnect the ground from the main battery again and wait. Disconnect the IBS and wait.
I found a suggestion that the IBS itself might be bad but don't know how to confirm that without just replacing it.
I don't really care about the Auto Start/Stop working. I bought it when one year old and it's never worked in that time but never gave an error before today. But I'd like to get the alert to go away if possible.
Thanks in advance.
