So long story short, we traded the Silvertruck (my silver JTR) for a red TRX. The TRX was awesome, but after a few months of ownership we began to notice the TRX was kind of hard to live with. The thing was just huge by every measure and it got maybe 10 mpg.

So with the crazy used car market we actually sold that thing at a profit. I picked up a 2022 frontier pro-4x and though it doubled fuel economy and basically cut my car cost by more than half it was too drastic a change. Nice truck just not for me.

After taking the JTR pretty far with mods, I wanted to get something a little different. After reading so much on the forum about the mojave, it seemed to fit our goals for a little softer ride and still plenty capable for running forest roads and the other kind of light off roading we enjoy. Also, the TRX really opened my eyes to suspension tech and liked the idea of having just a little of that flavor in a jeep.

So, a few weeks ago I located a white 2021 mojave new holdover at Stokes Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Clanton AL. They were great to deal with. After making a little money on my trade and rolling my equity, combined with their $5k or so discount, i rolled out of there in about 90 minutes with a brand new mojave with no money down, financing about $10k off sticker after fees.

The mojave is loaded up. Love the gray seats. Also has the select-trac full time 4x4 which includes a 4 hi auto mode in addition to part time 4 hi. I put a copy of the sticker below.

The goals for this gladiator will be much more tame by comparison to my rubicon. We’re going to accessorize it and equip it more for family adventure and day trip offroading than for pounding rocks. Should be fun, so glad to be back in a jeep.

We’ve had 15 mopars in this family including 7 jeeps (and counting). I guess its just part of our DNA now!

So I had the jeep about four days before changing tires. Nothing wrong with the factory falken MT’s but they felt a little small.

Supply chain being what it is, couldn’t locate 35x12.50’s not on backorder. So, we decided to try some 315/70/17’s. Went back to the Toyo Open Country MT, did great on the JTR and is just a great looking tire. Here’s a couple shots.

Wow! These are strange times and you went through four trucks in the time I have just started using my 21 Mojave. Looks great that is one loaded truck with some options I have never seen on a truck, but I can say my Mojave does have the weatherproof slush mats, ha!
Welcome back, Mojave suspension is pretty cool, I still speed up for speed bumps!

After living with a toddler and a jeep where the door sills were 32 inches off the ground, I knew better family accessibility would be important. So the next mod after the tires had to be step bars.

I wanted to keep the look simple and cost effective so the natural choice for me was to go with the N—Fab nerf style bars with 3 inch main tube, wrinkle finish. Super easy install, solid steps, will look good with the bumpers and other gear we are considering. My family loves them too. Win!!

Welcome back! I had considered a Pro 4x but knew it wasn’t up to my abuse. The Mojave has been perfect, and it’s really what I wanted all along.

The pro4x was a cool truck but it really disappointed me on the highway. Choppy ride, slower than you’d think (not that trucks should be fast). Also the aftermarket was really thin and everything was on indefinite backorder. Then, the shifter knob fell off in my hand running errands at a big box store. The fender wasnt bolted down, missed a body mount. 3500 miles and traded. It was one of the first off the line out of new plant, am sure it will be great as they get quality down. Way better interior than tacoma.

If I may ask what wheels did you have on "Silvertruck" JT? I do not recognize them.

Nice, I love the seat color also. If I could live without the Gator color I'd get a Mojave. I showed my wife yours, she's looking for one now in white. She's a fan of white trimmed out in black. Welcome back!!!!!
