With summer right around the corner, I was curious how many of you out there will be throwing a plow on for the winter.

I'm wondering what the availability will be, as well as giving the truck the capability to both accept a plow, and still have a winch. Most vehicles I've seen that can take a plow don't have a spot for one underneath.

So I’ve been beating my western rep and the news is not good.

They don’t have a fitment for the JL, it’s going through safety etc.

The JT is so new that even if they could wave a wand they wouldn’t have anything until next model year at the absolute earliest.

I put my JK bracket against the JL frame and while it sure looks like you could make it work, you’ll be drilling all new holes. And no idea how the isolation module will play with the electrical system of the JL/JT.

That said I think the JT should plow at least as well as a typical 1/2 ton. The aux switches would be great for controller power and conspicuity lights, probably cook up a flash module with an arduino for that totally clean look with the LED light package. Otherwise a back rack and a bar light will tuck nicely.

The only hang ups I foresee is turning radius being not terribly Jeep like and getting cooling past the blade. My JKUR will run hot with the blade full up at speed so you have to lower it enough to flow air but not so low they you slam the road with every heave. The trail camera may serve you very well assuming you can see over the blade.

Upside is there should be no issues at all with putting a pull plow on it for maximum action and take the sting off turning radius.

I will be following this thread. My plan is to definitely use the JT for plowing my office parking lot and a few driveways (for the neighbors I like). Please keep this going with any information!!!

I plan on putting a plow on my JT.

I've had a 7.6 ft Boss HTX on my 2015 F150 for the last 3 years and it has done great.

Here's the bracket info for JL. I can't imagine the frame is much different up front between the JL and JT.

Also following this thread as i'll need to justify a residential plow. I currently plow with my ATV but my property is much too large and will need to upgrade. Those of you with plowing experience can maybe help me out? I'm still undecided between the SportSMaxTow and Rubicon yet because I need to drive the 6MT manual first. Thoughts on residential plowing and if this should force me into a Sport/Rubi model or Manual/Auto transmission?

Has anyone tried the Meyer home plow? I got a quote for $6259 for a sno-way installed, but the Meyer is $2500 and I think I can install it myself. I know you get what you pay for, but the price difference seems crazy!!!
