I posted this question on the specification thread and there was some discussion and speculation, but if there was a definitive answer, I missed it. Did anybody else at the reveal take a tape measure to the bed to see how deep it is? I sure would like to know what I can hide with a tonneau cover and hope that includes my Honda EU2000i, my current Yeti and my future fridge. I think 18 inches would do for all of those. If it is less, I figure I am in the market for a cap.

I am guessing it is around 18".

Just looking at how much space is above the Decked system (which is 12" tall) there isn't much, so it is an educated guess at best.

Closest I could find is where the one Jeep developer quoted the bed is 5 ft. or 6 1/2 ft. with tailgate down- so that makes the tailgate height around 18" (give or take a little in that where hinges are). So sounds like 18"

Bed is 60.3 when closed and 81.3 when open. That is 21", perhaps an inch may be lost to the gap between tailgate and bed. I'd say a solid 20".

Sounds like if your wish is 18" or more you are golden!

Yes, it does. I have done the tailgate math and all of that and think 18ish is a reasonable estimate, but am amazed that nobody seems to have taken a tape to it to give us all the exact answer.

I would say at least 18 inches deep.

Thanks BickJT for the confirmation

I think 20" is a good depth for about anything I would need.

In another forum, the guys at "Decked" said their slide drawer comes in at 12" and based on what they saw they said it is closer to 16"..... guesses do not work. Someone measure & post the pic using a tape measure... need some facts!

Amen. Tailgate length and other measurement are indicators, not measurements of the bed depth. Jeep went to great pains in their reveal video to talk about how easy it is to reach into the bed from the side. Almost like they were apologizing in advance for its being shallower than the competition. Looking forward to seeing an actual measurement and somewhat amazed that nobody crawling over them in LA took one and posted it.

From what I saw, I'm guessing it is 16 to 20 inches high, but hey, we are all just guessing. Let's settle on 15 to 22 inches, and call it All Good!
