That is an impressive amount of space for a trailer that light.

2020 Coachman Viking 17BH, 3013 lbs dry, 340 lb tongue weight.

Only picked it up Friday and drove home, but seems to tow great.; though it doesn't like to get out of 5th or 6th at 100 km/h.

Can't wait to get out camping next week!

I pulled the borrowed Rockwood HW276 to Destin Fl last Sunday and just got back home this morning. We were supposed to stay till tomorrow but Tropical Stirm Cristobal ran us out of town this morning. First 100 miles was in 35-45 mph winds and torrential downpours. The Jeep did fine but the driver was a nervous wreck with my 18 year old daughter passed out asleep in the passenger seat without a care in the world. In the picture it looks like it is squatting a little but the truck is pretty level but my 8 inch drop hitch was a little too low.

That’s my experience as well. I have the 2020 Cherokee wolf pup black label 16bhs. Almost identical on weight. I’ve towed mine a little over 1,000 miles now, 5th and 6th 90% of the time. Averaging around 9 mpg

19 foot car hauler with optional 1943 GPW. Total weight 4000 lbs. Tongue weight 450 pounds. Tows very nicely without equalizers. Chocks are screwed to the deck to ensure I keep the same tongue weight and provides more stabilization on the trailer than cargo straps and having it in gear.

What happens if you had to hit the brakes hard? It looks as if the GPW would end up in the bed of your truck.

As shown it would probably end up in the bed. I had just hooked it up to weigh tongue weight and see how the JT sat with the load on the hitch. For road travel it has four 15,000 lb ratcheting cargo straps securing it to the trailer. That was definitely for illustration purposes. Do not try that at home.

I'm taking mine out next week for a 4 day camping trip, though only going a couple hundred Km from home. I'm curious what kind of economy I'll get... we shall see!

Do you have a weight distribution hitch? I opted for just a standard ball and shank for now, truck seems pretty level in the current configuration.

Yes, I’m using the Husky Centerline TS weight distribution anti-sway hitch. I’ve been in some high winds , haven’t experienced any sway with this set up and truck drives nice and level. I’m really happy with it.

Awesome, I was looking at those. Its on the list if I decide to purchase a WD hitch.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Gladiator this week. Here is what I will be towing. Took it for a drive today and it did surprisingly well on 2 lane roads going 55 mph in very windy conditions. I traded in a 2500 Duramax, and I was really shocked at how well this little truck handled my Airstream. I think once I get things dialed in a little more it will do everything I need. I’m so pumped to be back in a Jeep.
