I towed a fully, fully loaded uhaul 6x12 from NC to GA a little over a week ago, but I used my father’s 18 Z71 Colorado this time. It definitely has more power, but I think my Gladiator tows better. It’s probably the extra weight and longer wheelbase. I’ve done the same thing in my Gladiator before and it felt more stable. I mean the Colorado tows pretty well, but it didn’t handle the windy conditions or construction zones as well. I had a similarly spec’d Canyon before my Gladiator and I thought it towed and hauled pretty well, but the Gladiator is more stable.

I have a 18 z71 colorado for my company vehicle and went to pick up an opus op4 I bought with it. Trailer weighs around 3k dry. The colorado is such a turd. I pulled it about 250 miles from eastern pnhandle of WV back to other side where I live. I couldn’t get back fast enough to get out of it!

I disagree. I loved my 17 Canyon all terrain (same thing). It was way more powerful and handle fantastic for a truck. I used to tear up mtn road in it. I love my gladiator, but the Canyon/Colorado handle better and have considerably more power.

I was way overloaded. it was over 6k lbs. I stopped at a Pilot and used their scale. It was within the truck’s 7k lb tow rating, but way over the trailer’s payload.

Half regret trading it in but that goes away when I take my roof off and doors off. Then I say man I love this truck!!

That’s good to know actually. I HATE my z71, but it’s a company truck so can’t complain much. I’m due for a new one this year. Was pushing for a raptor, but don’t think it’s gonna happen, so the zr2 diesel is my next option.
