I am looking to order a new 2023 Gladiator Mojave with premium soft top and want to get the matching fabric mopar tonneau cover . I currently have a 2021 and ordered the cover from online # 82215617. The fabric matches the premium soft top exactly. At the time I ordered this one in 2021 there was a less expensive version that was a vinyl roll up and the fabric one actually showed it was just for early production Gladiators before January 2020. My understanding was the only difference was in the mounting hardware and early production models in late 2019 had rivet nuts in the bed . I just got some flange nuts and it worked out great.
The new soft roll up covers that I am seeing on new Gladiators at local lots seem to be a new hybrid between the two. Still fabric on the underside but the top is slick and shiny more like a vinyl but a bit of texture. It doesn't match the regular soft top or the premium. When I put in the number I ordered previously on several mopar parts sites ( 82215617) it changes it to 82216373AB. I'm not sure if this is still the same premium black fabric like I have . I'm certain if I include the roll up tonneau in my build it will be the new version and was hoping to try to find the older style somewhere online and order it separate. At some point I saw some discussion that Jeep had changed it due to high warranty claims regarding stretching and sagging . Personally I would rather have them match and sag a bit vs. being completely different materials . I would just remove my current one but it has a few spots where I have messed it up. A few retailers like BAM Wholesale still show the 82215617 or 82215617AA but I'm not certain it won't actually be the new part #. My local Jeep dealership looked up that part number and said no Jeep dealership in the Country still has that one anymore.
Has anyone ordered one lately and have any insight?
