Soft Top Uninstall Effort Level

I found a video demonstration the removal of the soft top on the JL




My questions are:

1) Is removing the hard top easier or harder than this?
2) Do you think the JT will have a similar level of effort for completely removing the soft top?

I'm driving myself crazy with deciding which to buy. I live in SoCal and intend to DD the truck for the most part. But I would like to spend almost every weekend with top completely off and doors fully removed. I really don't like the way the soft top flops around in the back but if I can store in the bed while I'm out, I get the best of every world, especially if it's as easy to remove as this video suggests.

The soft top is waaaaay easier to remove fully than the hard top on the JL, and based on what we’ve seen on various JT videos, it appears to be similar. Pop out the corners and rear window, flip the top back, and remove a couple of bolts. When I had a JK there were many options to replace the bolts with quick-release pins, which made the job even quicker.

Just get the soft top - you won’t regret it, especially in California.

Doug’s review video briefly touches on the hard top removal. However I agree with Drogers, unless you have security concerns which you did not mention.
