Speaking of which, my 93 year old aunt approves of my soft canopy choice.

I’m curious - and I don’t mean to start a fight.

But outside of it being cheaper in price, what is the point of going with a soft topper over a bed cap?

Off the top of my head pros for a hard cap:

- Better security

- Tougher material for better durability

- Weather resistant

- Able to mount racks

Again I’m more curious. I’ve seen a few around WI - but more bed caps and racks vs a soft topper.
$1000 vs. at least $3500

Better security...yes, maybe, but most hard tops I've seen you could easily pop them open with a crowbar.

Mine is 99.9% water proof.

Weather resistant. We just had 100 mph gusts in N. Idaho this week. I was driving some in it and i park outside north and south. The winds were from the west. I inspected it the next day and it didn't move an inch.

Datin has a rack that fits around the Softopper if you wanted one.

I drove from N.M. to N Idaho with 3 sides rolled up and chickens in the back and they loved it. I like going in the wilderness with the sides rolled up for easy accessibility to fishing poles, cooler, etc. and it taking 1 minute to waterproof it if need be.

I originally got it because it was a cheaper option, but now am thankful and think it was the best choice for what I need a topper for.
