Bump … anyone else? I’ve run a spiderweb for at least 5-6 years on my LJ (granted it’s a weekend warrior and sits in the garage) but had no complaints other than the bungees are losing a little elasticity.

Curious if anyone else has run both as the wife is looking for Christmas ideas:clap:

Had the JTops on my JLUR (it's for sale actually) and have the Spiderwebshade on my Gladiator. Both of them are the distressed American flag print Pros and cons to both. I had a soft top on my JLUR and a hard top on my Gladiator.

JTops
Pros: Less flapping in the back because of the bar. Flag print was much more visible. Less gaps on the sides. Great company and very responsive.
Cons: The buckles were just OK in my opinion...much harder to adjust than anticipated and much wider so interfered with grab bars. I did not like the magnetic flap at all...they could have added a cutout around the windshield brackets so it could be left on all the time. I was constantly taking the top down and it was starting to scratch the paint on the windshield. It's $100ish more expensive if I recall.

Spiderwebshade
Pros: I prefer the windshield mounts. Easier to install. Cheaper. Once installed you never need to change anything.
Cons: More flapping in the back but I don't find it excessive. Flag print less visible from the inside. A bit harder to unlatch/latch the freedom panels. Bit more of gaps on the sides but I think it is fine.

Overall I liked them both for different reasons. I'd say if you are really sensitive to flapping go with JTops. With the Gladiator it might matter more considering rear passengers are closer to the edge of the shade. If JTops changed their windshield flap design Id go with them in a heartbeat. But as it is now I would do Spiderwebshade again if I had to.

Cheers

not really relevant to the conversation....but I have a Brand New JTops for sale! (solid red - matches rubicon red well) I ordered 2 but don't need this one anymore.

I did have a JTop on my last Gladiator and I thought it was awesome. I left mine on with my hardtop without issue. its not super easy to use the latches but its not bad. Everything else about it is great
