That linked instrument cluster had to just be a screw up....right?

In the past only the 5in screen came with the non-digital cluster. I'd be pissed too if I ordered the fancy 8.4 and got that.

Do you have your build sheet with all the packages and their letter codes? Can use that to cross reference to the latest posted order guide and see if we can confirm the cluster in what you ordered.

just to clarify in case there is confusion the differences I am talking about here is specific to the instrument cluster only. Not the infotainment center.

I think off road pages, etc is accessible via the infotainment screen with the 8.4 upgrade

however. There is a difference. The insturment cluster screen is not the infotanment screen.

this is part of thenproblem. I called jeep care 3 times and spoke with 3 different people yesterday. Even they could not explain the differences and what actual specific options are and are not included with what specific options

very irritating.

when you upgrade to the Premium audio group you get the upgraded cluster, it's part of the popular equipment package or just tell them you want the popular equipment package and you'll get the digital cluster.

tell them technology group and then there will be an option for popular equipment or convenience group, if you don't want the premium audio you have to choose either of those options to get the digital cluster.

when I had my overland ordered at the dealership I had to buy the popular equipment package before he could send the order through.

I am hoping someone can clarify for me because I think I was misled. AGAIN

So during the order process I opted to include the upgraded 8.4" screen (nav system). I was told that the 'technology' group package was relating specifically to the 7" standard screen.

Well I was going back looking at everything because of discussions in another thread. And this thread () got me to thinking. Danger if I didn't get told something wrong again. And I went over and over and over with folks and research....

So here is the question. Does the upgraded instrument cluster get included with the 8.4" NAV system, or did I get screwed by being told that the 'technology' package ONLY relates to the standard 7" screen. When going on Jeep.com there is a clear difference in the interior picture between including or not including the 'technology' group.

A follow up question is does the two instrument cluster screens essentially function the exact same??? I have a nasty feeling that the dealer will tell me 'too bad so sad' and say I have to either deal with it and suck it up or loose my deposit. I don't care about keyless entry at all. But I would like to know if the two screens function the same, or if there is a very drastic difference between them - that would have me quite irritated because the sales department obviously has no clue what's what.
The Popular Equipment Group adds the contents of the Technology and Convenience Group plus the Freedom Top 3-piece hardtop and Trailer Tow Package. Finally, the Trail Rail Management System tosses in a 400-watt inverter, truck bed 115-volt outlet, and a lockable rear under-seat storage bin

right. Where therin lies the problem and irritation. Dealer told me the technology package only applied to the 7” infotanment screen. Not the 8.4. They were apparently confused and had no clue, and assumed the “7 inch display” was referencing the infotainment when in fact it references the instrument cluster. So two different things. But in their defense people at jeep care didnt know the difference either. And I didnt know either because everyone at the time said the same misunformation.

i do have the popular equipment package. that was forced with the 8.4 infotanment if I remember correctly. So hopefully that includes the upgraded 7” instrument cluster Instead of the standard 3.5” one

so with that package you get the digital cluster

lol, you're good bud, it is, I dunno why it's not standard anyway especially at this price point, that 3.5" is garbage! LOL

Jeep has some weird things going on package wise anyway. I ordered a Max Tow package, with 8.4 premium audio, and cold weather package and the popular equipment group. I'm looking at my build sheet and it still says 3.5 instrument cluster, it also says headliner module but I didn't select the headliner so we'll see??? So I won't be sure until I get my truck on Friday.
  • I wanted black fender flares, but nope can't have that with Max Tow only painted flares with max tow.
  • I also wanted black wheels...nope can't have that with Cold Weather package only Silver Wheels come with the heated seats. (cuz reasons)

Just weird things...Perhaps parts constraints?

But hey at the end of the day, I'm super excited to pick up my Truck on Friday!!! ?

congrats on your gladiator, bud! What all options did you end up getting?
I ordered the Sport S:
-sarge green
-tan interior
-3 piece hardtop
-satin grille
-bedliner
-Uconnect 8.4 infotainment
-alpine stereo (came with 8.4)
-ACC
-cold weather group
-convenience (came with 8.4)
-active safety
-popular equipment (came with 8.4)
-max tow package (comes with 4.10’s, and LSD)
-Selec-Trac (taking a gamble on this one that it doesnt grenade while off road).
Supposedly the clutches, when locked, are rated to handle something like 500 lb-ft of tq without slipping or blowing up

got my vin few weeks ago. Still waiting on build scheduling though
