Getting ready to cut up a few things on the JT (I usually start with a Sport S and add stuff).

Does anyone know if the Sport and the Rubicon have the same exact plastic bumper?

The reason I ask is that I am chasing two parts.

1. The red hooks.
2. The plastic part behind the fog lights.*

*I have used a Dremel to cut up the air transition piece before (on a JL) but if the ones off the Rubicon fit perfectly...that will save me some time.

But you have black hooks you can make red, why give them all that money?

It appears that the plastic bumpers are all the same and you just pick up the aero full panel when you move to high fenders and the bright appliqué when you move up trim.

So I'm gonna bring this one back ....so the only difference is the red hooks? Why does it connect to the fender flares? Can those just be removed?

Nope! The only thing the same is the hooks, aside from the color. Sport and Rubicon/Sahara are completely different. Rubicon and Sahara are the same except the color of the trim rings around fog light. Even the fog lights are different, Sport fog lights are held on by three screws, Rubihara are held on by four. There are many threads in the JL forums on this.

You can trim the those close outs for a cleaner look.

Sorry to revive the old thread,

I was searching a bit and didn't find a clear answer but yes, the sport = 3 mounting holes and the Rubicon front bumper's fog lights are held on by 4.

Is the difference simply just bracket or are the fog lights themselves different?

The light appears to be the same but the mounting bracket is different. I don’t think the bracket is available separately.

That is a Rubicon on the left and Sport on the right.

Other side.

Best bet is to watch the Member Market Place here and on the JL forum for OEM LED’s, they come up regularly and are a reasonably priced plug and play option.

So can you mount a front hoop on the rubicon plastic front bumper by just lining the hoop up and drilling holes would that work

Cool, thanks for looking that up!

I'll post some pics here once i do my sport -- rubicon bumper swap with these to confirm they work for future searchers.

Bumping this as I’m installing a rubicon plastic bumper on a sport. Curious how to run the wiring harness on the rubicon bumper as it doesn’t have the idents like the sport does.
