Our club rode the DBBB back in 2018, and there have been a number of changes to the trail since then with new land added and some trails removed from the route. Last time I went in my JKUR, and this time I took my Diesel Rubicon. This was a challenge in a bone stock truck, but we had a good time. I only had to winch one place when we were marred up in some muddy ruts and I bottomed out going down a ledge. We did 185 miles on the Route, with a total of 957 route trip from home. Averaged 28mpg for the weekend, but while driving in 4 lo for a majority of two days it got down to 22mpg. We had a blast and will be back in a few years. Here are some pics from the trip.

I've been eyeing this route for my next trip. Thanks for posting pictures and trail conditions.
Definitely looks a little more aggressive than the GA Traverse. Were there places to camp along the route?

I've done the GA traverse also, there are only a few places that are more difficult on the DBBB and there are route options that avoid the difficult trails. There are more water crossings on the DBBB and some of the trail is rutted pretty bad. Test the depth of any water/mud that looks suspect. There are campgrounds around and backcountry camping options. Both times we have gone up we have stayed in a cabin right off the route. For reference, when doing the GA traverse you are in one long line, so it works better to stay along the route, for the DBBB you can easily find a home base and stay there for two nights. We did the bottom half of the route on friday and the top half on saturday.
