Hi from Australia. Just picked up my JT and loving it, but need a towbar so thinking of getting the Explorer Pack from the dealer which has towbar, side steps (I prefer the black instead of included chrome), winch guard, mud flaps, door sill guards, weathershields.

Any thoughts on these side steps vs the factory rock rails? I will only be doing some light offroading, nothing crazy. It's going to be my daily driver. Thanks.

I have the factory side steps, they work well for my use, they block anything thrown up from the front tires and provide a usable step for my wife and kids to get in. I like the way they look but doubt they would stand up to much heavy off road use where they are being smashed into things or supporting the weight of the JT. The attachment points are very strong and they do not flex at all when used.
