I would not add any gizmo while under warranty. Just setting up the climate control, or manual temp controls to the max settings at cold and hot ends will also disable the system as designed.

If you plan on doing other mods to the vehicle just go ahead and get you a Tazer. It has the ability to create a memory for that button so when you turn it off, itll come back to the last setting of on or off.
The start stop eliminator is simple to install. The problem with the Tazer is if you don't open and close the door the right amount of times you end up with a dead battery.

I use a tazer to turn off the ESS. But I'm contemplating deleting the stupid lawn mower battery as well.

I can do a lot of other stuff for the price of a tazer - as I'd only ever use maybe 1 or 2 things it does, nothing else.
For that price, I have the bypass cable, a BT adapter, JSCAN and AlfaOBD, and money left over (and nothing sitting adding to the crazy parasitic draw these have right from the factory)

My dealership has no problem with any mods. I can't see how this could be an issue with warranty work.

Have you had this happen?

ive said it before so here it is again.

instead of a mod, or pushing the button everytime...

just leave the climate controls above 75 in winter, or fan setting above 3
start stop will automagically disable because cabin heating or cooling.

Pressing a button is even cheaper............. and once you do it a few times, it becomes second nature.
Everyone presses a button to start it, fiddles with their favorite music and various other things - but can't press a button?
Does one also get in and forget to press the big start button? Forget to put it in gear?
I happened to run across this post of yours from the past. Not sure why you are trying to make a big deal about me doing exactly what you are referring to in your own post....

5 years in - still no tazer.
Relay for license plate lights, press button for ESS when I want to. Saved myself hundreds!

Anything sold to press that button for you will be fine. It's such a simple circuit, a couple of years ago someone on youtube showed how to make one for under 25 bucks. Wish I could find that video again! It was a simple timer circuit IC and one other chip, connectors, that was it.

Can you explain this please? I've had a Tazer in my wifes 2019 JL for 5 years now and one in my 2023 JT for the past year and half (since new) and I/we have never experienced what you are talking about.

And here I am, with no tazer and no device to disable the ESS instead of pressing a button.

My comments about finding the video again were because I love to tinker with electronics and if I could make these things for under $25, I'd make a bunch and sell them for what they cost me to make.

Pressing a button can become habit - muscle memory. I can't see spending $50 to $300 for something I can do without even thinking about it.
On this 2025, I'm skipping the license plate light relay thing because it's just not the same issue with the camera changes they have made on these models.

Here is an electronic voltage regulator circuit I breadboarded a while back. It's now on a PC board and I got it down small enough it can be fitted into a 1960s or 70s voltage regulator housing to make it look proper for car shows.

Here it is on the board..........
Jeep Gladiator Stop/Start disable mod reg-test_0

So if I get a chance I'd be making such a thing for others, not myself. No need.
