considering that corporations and the top tier wealthy investors nake milliins in profits, and CEOs have continuously made increasingly more percentage wise over the years than the acarage worker, I support the unions in their fight for more livable wages. Those who dont can always buy 3rd world items much more cheaply.
I
With what the overpaid bumper installers were offered,it's unbelievable they went on strike.. they act like they are still the craftsman of the 60's, they have demanded so much to make the job so easy, and on top of that, thier union supports the reason we have the inflation we do....
I offer ZERO SUPPORT for the UAW..
I've seen the size of the infirmaries from the old auto plants. Their was a need for representation. I've seen the ads today with tge UAW saying these used to be good jobs. They are great jobs and the record profits are coming offbthe heals of COVID shutdowns and hell GM and Chrysler were bankrupted in the not too distant past. Instead od trying to run your paycheck provider into the ground, be glad they are profitable and hope it leads to security in a potentially unstable economy. Corporations ie the big 3 will not reduce their margins as a result of this and this just pushes car prices up to what are already barely affordable. This agreement will only result in the need for the big 3 to find 20-30% productivity via robotics and streamlining operation. I support the American worker, but this is unreasonable. A 14% increase was a good offer when they already were given profit sharing.

CEOs can be automated. Left tackles can't lol.

A CEO just takes all the input from the execs and advisors and makes the decisions that will increase stock price. An algorithm could do it better.

The union wants what they were promised in 2019. Record inflation, higher profits, executive bonuses but ZERO COLA for the union workers. Union gave up so much to keep the big three afloat and now it’s time to make good on your promise.

Only 11% of American workers are union. Unions are not there for the worker. They are there for the Democratic National Committee. The majority of the other 90% of American workers seem to make a livable wage unrepresented.

Forced Unionism States that have union shops
are driving manufacturers and jobs
to the Right to Work States
or overseas.

Decades ago, my boss criticised me
for driving a Japanese pickup
instead of an American pickup.
I pointed out
that his extended cab Chevy pickup
was made in Canada
while my Nissan Hardbody pickup
was made in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Now who's driving made in America.

This trend has grown stronger.
For example, Toyota now races in NASCAR
because they manufacture in the USA.
NASCAR has prohibited foreign built cars
ever since Jaguar XK120s won races
back in the beginning of the association.

There is no such thing as a trickle up economy.
That is why the Rust Belt is rusting.
The free enterprise system works
when there are free markets,
including labor markets.

Keep it civil. Have a good weekend.
and never such thing as a trickle down economy

It cracks me up how the Jeep crowd is all "USA! USA!" Pretending to be patriotic, blue collar, "I'll never buy foreign!", until their fellow blue collar Americans want to improve their living situation. Then it's all "f**k those guys, bunch of bums should be happy with what they get"

I don't know why y'all love the billionaires and corporations so much, they don't care about you at all.
YES!!!

IMO, this has been needing to happen for awhile now; call it our Fourth Turning.

Medicare/Medicaid is a pyramid scheme that is failing due to population decline. Same with SS. I'm convinced that's why the retards in charge are so hung up on open borders; they need the tax revenue (and votes...) to keep this whole scheme afloat lest they look bad.

Rip the bandaid off. Let's get this over with.
insane

BS.... the kept THIER JOBS afloat, they didn't give a rats ass about keeping the company afloat they only cared about thier own jobs so let's not sugarcoat the turd and call it a candy bar.... most of the jobs are no longer skilled, they pushed those jobs out in favor of easy jobs

Just becausecthe company makes profit, you're paid a wage, if the company takes a loss will the UAW make up the difference?

Give them bonuses of company stick so they actually have skin in the game

Also, if the company can't fire you because you have a contract, then you shouldn't be allowed to quit without compensating the company

too ironic ... how many " BUY AMERIICAN" yahoos change their tune when it comes to supporting American workers...
Same folks that yell "support our troops" elect reps that vote against compensation for joes that had exposure to burn pits.

But what do I know.... my brain probably smoked cause I stood too close to burning powder one too many times.?

In 1971, when I was stationed in West Germany,
if anyone had told me that one day
Fiat would own Chrysler and Jeep,
I would have told them
that they had dropped acid
one too many times.

I wonder if the strike does go months, would Jeep just not make anymore 23’s, even though they’re already on order, and just go straight to the 24’s?
That is exactly my situation. Punk'n Mojave that was scheduled to be built 9/24/23. ?
